As we approach the dawn of new (unheard) Jill Scott material I wanted to share my interpretation of Golden.  It's got a soulful hip hop sound and is a definite head nodder!

Alicia Keys has been one of my favorite artists since I first heard her on the Men In Black soundtrack.  Her voice is sultry and extremely soulful and the majority of her songs are head nodders.  The original version of Girlfriend caught my attention because the piano sample (from the ODB joint Brooklyn Zoo).  I wanted to maintain the same integrity of the song, but with my own twist.  Enjoy!

I had the opportunity to be part of the UnCommonly Good remix project over at Bamalovesoul.com earlier this month.  This is the remix I submitted and damn---it's hot! I wanted to take the approach that I normally do when producing a track.  I sample heavy!  The sample I used gives DOOINIT an old school feel, but does the song justice.  Check it for your self.

I have created what I think is a dope version of On & On ready for any picnic or sitting outside on hot summer day sippin on some lemonade.  The energy of Ms. Badu's vocals are powerful and I wanted to make a track that would not only compliment but exemplify her talents.  On & On is one of favorite tracks by Erykah Badu and I'm sure you will enjoy my remix.  Peace.
