Hailing from the home of some of the UK's most successful and talented artists in London. DJ, producer and music enthusiast. Polo Soleri started his humble beginnings as amateur DJ and has gone on to play in various well-established venues arenas across the UK and overseas boasting an 11 year tenure within the music, event and entertainment industry.

This week on our All Shades of The Drum Radio Show we have the hard-working, talented DJ/Drummer, Percussionist and Event Organiser... Sarah Riegler!

About Sarah Riegler:
Originally from a tiny town in Michigan, Sarah moved to Toronto in 2012 to complete an MA in Ethnomusicology at the University of Toronto. She became a professional drummer/percussionist at age 15, and somehow her love of punk, ska, and metal evolved into a deep study of Western classical & avant-garde music. During her BA, she fell in love the drumming of West Africa, and studied traditional percussion & dance in Accra at the University of Ghana in 2011. 

After moving to Toronto, Sarah began studying and performing percussion from Bali, Java, Brazil, and India. She also performed for many years in indie bands such as O Frontera, The Northen Empties, John Orpheus, Oxford Blue, Ghost Caravan, and Catch Fiyah. With these bands, she's toured and played across the US & Canada, as well as festivals like NXNE, MixTO, and CMW. Music from these groups has had placements in Kim's Convenience, virgins!, and an Off White (Virgil Abloh) x Jimmy Choo Paris Fashion Week campaign. 

As a DJ, Sarah finally had an outlet to share her love & library of popular, underground, and electronic African music she had been collecting since she lived in Ghana. In 2018, Sarah founded the all-African music party called Afro Haus, a now infamous & vibrant community in downtown Toronto of local afro DJs, musicians, dancers, visual artists, performance artists, and producers. Afro Haus put on over 50 legendary events leading up to COVID, and has big plans for 2023 & beyond!

Founder of Dark Out The Room, a new concept and brand specialising in dark African electronic music. Inspired by the sounds commonly heard in Ibiza, the UK and Africa.

Her DJ sound is best described as dark, psychedelic, spiritual , filled with heavy bass lines, tech and jazz elements.

This London-based DJ, Producer, Remixer, and Label Head is known for his variation in styles, technical ability, and ability to take you on a musical journey.

DJ IC, touted by DJ Magazine as London's afro house craftsman, is known for his enlightening DJ sets featuring an array of exclusive edits and remixes that keep the party going.

IC strikes the perfect balance in playing soulful, spiritual Afro House accompanied by hard-hitting beats with a cutting edge. Studying music technology back in 1999 was a real eye opener and catalyst for IC's journey, getting to understand music at a deeper level has been the key to his current successes.

Beyond DJing IC is not only a DJ, Producer, Ghost Producer & Remixer, he is also an Author, Music Reviewer, Mentor and Label Head for the newly established label ‘All Shades Of The Drum Recordings’.
