This Scratch & Mix composition was created in a span of a year and half. Released  2015-16 under the name JayUno's Vinyl Discography Vol 1 thru 4 are now made into in one complete track. Created with vinyl only, no special effects from any tools, all effects, cuts, scratches, edits, mixes, overdubs are done by hand with a simple 2 channel mixer with no built in effects, and two Turntables of course. Built with one record and idea at a time, just creating as I go. These are ideas I had in my head since I was a kid but didnt have the means to create, as "they" say "Better Late Then Never" I am very proud of this project because I had to push my limits and patience. First and foremost, I want to send a big Salute to Jorun Bombay for inspiring me to move onto production. He among many legends and local legends as well have inspired me, too many to name. A few years ago, he made an instrumental of Rock The Bells by LL Cool J Produced By Rick Rubin, cuts by Jay Byas The Original DJ Jazzy Jay. I decided to give it a try and create an instrumental Dub Version. I programmed the beats using Maschine, then used Ableton to EQ, sequence, and chop samples, also replicated the cuts to the best ability. Most of the original samples were taken from vinyl except for Trouble Funk's 4th Gear sample. Again, thanks for the inspiration. Peace!

Nas-It Ain't Hard To Tell (JayOne Remix)

This is a tribute to one of the most influential DJ's of all time. The first time I heard "A Touch Of Jazz" I was immediately blown away by the cuts, scratches and the sounds used. It was the first time ever hearing Jazz records in a megamix. I studied this record since 1987! Its hard to believe this mix is over 30 years old. I decided to put my ears and production skills to the ultimate test. I chopped up the original drums and replayed them so as not to use a loop. I used Maschine Mikro for the drums and Ableton Live 8 to arrange, Pioneer S9 with fader adjustment to make authentic sound, and of course I used the classic Technics 1200s for the cuts and scratches. I used the original sound sources from both digital and vinyl format. I tried my best to listen and recreate the actual scratches and cuts originally performed by DJ Jazzy Jeff. It took many takes to nail the cuts but I may have pulled it off, but thats not for me to decide. 
The version I recreated is from the 12" single called the (Extended Re-Touch Mix) Released 1987

JayOne Presents: A Tribute To DJ Jazzy Jeff-A Touch Of Jazz (Replica By JayOne)

This track was inspired after watching a documentary of The Legendary DJ Marley Marl. Also inspiration comes from Rick Rubin, Fresh Gordon, Mantronix, Larry Smith, Jam Master Jay (RIP) DJ Whiz Kid (RIP) DJ Jazzy Jay, Cut Master DC, Grandmixer DXT, Grandmaster Flash, Davy DMX, Hitman Howie Tee. And many more producers and DJs prior to the Golden Era (Circa 83-86) 
Programmed the DMX sounds into Maschine, then added samples from various sources and added cuts using mostly vinyl and some from the digital library. I wanted to capture the essence of coming home from JR high and listening to the radio religiously.
The college stations would play those types of beat and scratch records. Hope you enjoy!
Also Big Shout To Masai Electro for providing the robotic voice (he did naturally without effects) I simply pitched it down and added some reverb and simple delay.

DJ JayOne Presents: The Low Def Groove (Back To Basics Mix)

I was experimenting with the classic sounds and production techniques used in 80s dance music. 
I chopped each note of the keys and bass, exported them to Maschine and replayed them to fit the track. Drum Programming and track building was done on Maschine, Arrangement completed in Ableton Live.

Fleetwood Mac-Dreams (70s Meets The 80s Remix)by JayOne

A tribute to one of the most illest MCee's who made a huge impact in such a short period of time. 
I found a piano sample, chopped, replayed and the voice I heard over the piano was none other then the Late Big L. Once I found the sounds I needed, I created a rough instrumental.  I tried a few acapellas and "Put It On" fit the best. Instead of making scratch hooks, I decided to lay down a scratch verse as the last verse. This remix was nice to work on, I hope you enjoy it as much I did making it.
