I'm launching my own night at the Nest in london Friday Feb25th. When booked for 90 minute sets theres alot of pressure to rock the party hard and the guy before you is invariably playing so banging that theres often not much room to take it deep and dynamic. Pretty much the height of his career at this time with so many tunes under his belt from his label Marine Parade and so many bootlegs under different alias's it was a healthy time for the breaks scene and much loved by all.

In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and many other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas.

This mix was part of Annie Nightingale's Glastonbury Breakbeat Special back in June 2004.

REMASTER from an old analog mixtape for the '2AM Side' of my second mix tape DESERT FUNK, best copy we could find!  Back when the Chemical Brothers were still the Dust Brothers, this one helped me finally land some local LA gigs after getting some initial interest as a resident Moontribe DJ.  All vinyl, and a little rough around the edges mix-wise as I was really just starting to DJ, this felt like when I was finally finding 'my sound' and things were starting to flow for me.  I think it also captures a bit of what was really a very special time in EDM and early LA underground dance culture which I feel so lucky to have been a part of.  Thanks again to Scott Cattanach for the fresh, original cover art, Ken Lawrence of Pure Acid Mixtapes for helping me spread the word, Moontribe for giving me a chance, LA DJ godfathers like Doc Martin, Steve Loria, and DJ Dan for their help and guidance, all the fans and promoters for their support, and of course the fabulous, rockin' artists who provide the music for this sonic journey.
