Well here it is - the long-awaited progressive tribal psytrance demo by DJ (Marc) Kundalini, featuring my speciality - live key-matched didjeridoo/didgeridoo/yidaki.

Mixed on my pc without headphones or ability to cue - so please excuse the few messy transitions! Those who've heard my live sets know how smooth they are :)

Experienced DJs & producers will appreciate the restraint I've shown with the mix levels of didj to DJ track - the ego-trap many didj players fall for is to 
believe they the star & try dominate the airwaves. The transcendent art is to pull back, listen to the whole & find the balancing sweet-spot where all the layers gel & become one. 
I hope I've found that (& if you still can't hear the didj then turn it up & use your subs)!

This set builds from 128bpm electro progressive - 142bpm pumping psytrance, to fit the concept of a pre-midnight main floor set with rising energy - 
fully charged & the night is young so there's no hurry as your body warms up  & slowly begins to unleash some of your favourite moves! The sets build 
& your pulse quickens, the sounds, the lights, surrounded by your favourite freaky groovers - the euphoria hits you!

Or - if you reversed the track order it would be a transition set from pumping night-time psytrance settling down into a warm deep easy progressive groove, 
perfect for soaking up the warming rays of sunshine as you look around, open and at one with the smiling faces of your tribe - you know that beautiful moment! 
Then after an easy rest the set starts building again & you find your second wind - let's go!

So! Here is my live recording of the Plant Sound Journey i did at Boom festival this summer 🍃🌱🌿
I never did a whole set playing only plant generated sounds before. I also never played such an “ambient” set, not in anyway attemting to intensify, but rather inviting the audience to fully slow down. 
To, just for this one hour, put aside all we think we know of how we safe the planet through what we eat and how we live with nature. To put aside everything we logically know and studiet about, but to rather emphasize with it and for once just truly try to listen to what it wants to tell us. 
I feel that we live in a world where the art of listening, is something we have to relearn. 
To listen not only with our ears and mind, but also with our hearts and intuition.
I believe that only then, we would really be able to hear the clear message being given. 
That only then, we really connect and become one 🍃

AYO - Plant Sound Journey - Chi Temple, Being Fields - Boom Festival 2025

Project Globalsound is a global sound initiative for wellbeing, peace and unity orchestrated by therapeutic sound innovator Lyz Cooper. Music is a wonderful tool that unites, relaxes, energises and uplifts.  Lyz sent out a message around the world asking for submissions from anyone wanting to share their sound and music with others around the world and she was not disappointed!  Submissions came from many different countries and feature many different instruments - some of which are rare and ancient.  There are also natural sounds such as birds, cicadas and even goats!  Lyz worked alongside Clifford Sax to mix the soundbytes into a collage.  We hope you enjoy and would love your feedback! This song was just lyrics on a piece of paper Sunday 9th December 2012, but was originally released on here on the 10th. 

I will re-record the vocal as I am singing it more fluidly and more accurately on a tuning basis. now. Originally this was a poem (the lyrics are on my web site. margaretmjoyce.com) One thing this does prove is something that was originally a poem can have an interesting melody, dictated by the original wording. Sadly you have to lose some lines and change a few words to make it fit. Sometimes this improves the poem also. The lyrics make it quite powerful as a dedication and has purity, simplicity, but also force & an element of sadness and loss. 

I have to say it also proves (reality and) poetry is often very free - to shape it into a song, perhaps some of the randomness ('cos it sounds good) of the poetry and indeed life is lost, because it is almost impossible to not conform to a framework aka the song, chords, and ehem singer.

Poems are often a slice of time, they may be about the now, the future, or just a moment long since past. 

Dunno why but I think it would work with a didgeridoo!
