D.J. MacIntyre - Original Productions and Remixes

The latest release from SLC-6 Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of 'Hot Powder' by DJ Maxo and label boss D.J. MacIntyre. Originally released in 2020 as part of the label's popular SIX: Stage-X collection, it found the duo crafting their first ever collaboration, one which carried a club-effective tech house approach and fared well on dancefloors around the world. Now, almost four years on from its original release, SLC-6 revisits the track with new interpretations from Lena Storm, Facucio and Sergio Vilas. Returning to the label with the first interpretation of 'Hot Powder' is Lena Storm. Making her third appearance on SLC-6, the Russian artist takes the track into her world of melodic techno with buzzing synth lines, catchy vocal coaxes and a pulsating groove that's perfect for a peak time dancefloor. The second interpretation is provided by Facucio who makes his label debut following strong outings for Comet Records and The Purr to begin the year. Hailing from Mendoza, the Argentinean artist takes 'Hot Powder' into progressive territory with a smooth uplifting rendition, complete with siren-like synth mutations and a tough driving groove that's sure to lift the energy of any set. Rounding out the release are two interpretations from Sergios Vilas who returns to the label following a remix of 'Reprise' by Digital Mess late last year. First up, the 'Spring' interpretation keeps things light and melodic, with nicely manicured beats and fluttering arps creating a loud soft dynamic that's nicely suited to a daytime dancefloor. Meanwhile, the 'Autumn' version offers a fuller, more drum-heavy approach, one that maintains the melodic spirit from the original, while going heavier with dark stabs and a catchy vocal re-arrange.

SLC-6 Music celebrates their one hundredth release with a new single from label boss D.J. MacIntyre and G.O.D.A. Hailing from California, D.J. MacIntyre has been a beloved figure within the American electronic music scene for the better part of a decade. Oftentimes finding the creative space between progressive house and melodic techno, D.J. MacIntyre has taken his cross-genre sound to some of the underground's trendiest imprints, most notably Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Droid9, SkyTop, Clubsonica, and Freegrant. Also well travelled as a DJ, the Santa Barbara resident has appeared at some of the world's most prestigious events, most notably Burning Man and ADE, while also showcasing his borderless programming skills in Moscow, Malta, Sri Lanka, and all across the United States. Meanwhile, previously known as Goda Brother, G.O.D.A. has been a mainstay in the progressive house scene since first appearing in 2015 with releases via OLD SQL Recordings and Revelation. The Egyptians' trippy yet club friendly sound quickly won over the genre's tastemakers, and now nine years on, the Alexandria resident lays claim to an impressive resume highlighted by projects for Panda Lab and Sol Selectas. Having previously appeared on SLC-6 with a well-received remix of 'Magellanic Clouds' by KAZKO, G.O.D.A now returns to the label, pairing with D.J. MacIntyre to commemorate the one hundredth release with 'Osiris', alongside remixes from Rick Pier O'Neil and Luciano Capomassi & Ramiro Alvarez.

SLC-6 Music continues a strong summer season by presenting new interpretations of '3-Sphere' by Michael St. Patrick, FreakyBro and label boss D.J. MacIntyre. Hailing from the USA, this trio of SLC-6 regulars have all achieved measurable success in their respective solo careers. As veterans of California's infamous rave scene dating back to the 90's and early 2000's, Michael, Freakybro and D.J. MacIntyre have compiled a bevy of impressive projects for SLC-6 over the last six years, oftentimes finding the creative space between progressive house, melodic techno and psy trance. With D.J. MacIntyre's peak time techno-tinged take on the track first surfacing as part of the label's SIX: Stage-2 collection five years ago, SLC-6 now showcases new interpretations of '3-Sphere' by Michael St. Patrick, Soulmade (AR) and D.J. MacIntyre who presents an updated 'Cosmological' version of the track. Opting for a melodic dancefloor friendly approach, it is D.J. MacIntyre's 'Cosmological' version which sets the tone for the release. Buoyant basslines and vibrant chord stabs combine for a playful summer-like quality early on, while a wavy acid-tinged arp brings just the right amount of character and tension for an intense yet uplifting finale. Meanwhile, on selection two, San Luis Obispo resident Michael St. Patrick takes a techno-inspired approach, upping tempo and vibe with intense percussive flurries, cleverly co-axed beat patterns and looping vocals for an all out main room assault. Returning to the label for the third and final interpretation is Soulmade (AR) who comes off impressive outings for 3rd Avenue and Droid9. The Argentinean artist brings a timeless progressive vibe to '3-Sphere', complete with well-carved grooves, astral arps and a growling underbelly of thought-provoking effects to round out the release on a prophetic note.

The latest offering from Ruben Karapetyan’s RKP imprint welcomes Greg Tomaz to the label for his debut single. Hailing from India, Greg Tomaz has been a fixture of his country's electronic underground for over a decade. With a sound that balances the nostalgic and modern sensibilities of progressive house, the Bangalore resident has compiled an impressive resume, notching releases on well-established imprints such as Mango Alley, Proton’s Particles and Juicebox Music, the latter of which operates as his primary home where he acts as label manager. Selective in his projects, Greg’s lone 2024 production came in April with a well-received remix of ‘Moments’ by Shayan Pasha via 3rd Avenue. Now, presenting his first original production of the year, Greg adds RKP to his resume with ‘Longing’, alongside remixes from D.J. MacIntyre & Juan Ibanez and Makhmurian & Kiaro.

Having collaborated previously for D.J. MacIntyre’s SLC-6 Music imprint, the duo continues to build on their creative synergy here, making their RKP debut with a dreamy take on ‘Longing’. Bringing a progressive state of mind, the duo carefully balances the melodic mood from the original with their own character-rich sound. Timely effects and hopeful atmospheres steal the air atop tight kick drums and voluptuous grooves; while a tastefully crafted break furthers melodic appeal through astral-styled synth mutations, before pushing onwards to a finale destined for summer dancefloor success.

SLC-6 Music opens the new year with a new single from D.J. MacIntyre and Dr Green. Hailing from California, D.J. MacIntyre has been a beloved figure within the American electronic music scene for the better part of a decade. Oftentimes finding the creative space between progressive house and melodic techno, D.J. MacIntyre has taken his cross-genre sound to some of the undergrounds trendiest imprints, most notably Nick Warrens The Soundgarden, Clubsonica, Freegrant Music and RKP. Also well travelled as a DJ, the Santa Barbara resident has appeared at some of the worlds most prestigious events, most notably Burning Man and ADE, while also showcasing his borderless programming skills in Moscow, Malta, Sri Lanka, and all across the United States. Meanwhile, hailing from Sri Lanka, Daniel Claessen aka Dr Green has been one of SLC-6s core artists since making his debut in 2022 with a contribution to the SIX: Stage-11 collection. The next three calendar years would see Daniel deliver eight originals and three remixes for the American imprint, while also finding a home on Balkan Connection, Droid9 and La Foresta, amongst others. Now, as 2025 begins to take shape, D.J. MacIntyre and Dr Green combine their extensive forces for the first time on Martian Boogie, alongside remixes from Rockka, Juani Ramirez and GSix. The original mix shows just how good the creative synergy is between D.J. MacIntyre and Dr Green, as the duo crafts a memorable progressive journey that proves to be both musical and club-effective. A backbone of beefy beats and chugging grooves sets the pace for organic percussion, haunting motifs and a bevy of deconstructed sonics to conjure up transcendent imagery for the dancefloor. Touted Sri Lankan talent Rockka makes his SLC-6 return and provides the first remix following projects for Long Way Records and Mango Alley. Maintaining the spirit of the original, Rockka injects his own progressive spirit into the journey, one which focuses on a strong effects narrative and a searing acid build to lift the mood of any set. Also making his return to the label is Juani Ramirez who provides the second interpretation of Martian Boogie. With Juanis SLC-6 debut landing in November of last year as part the SIX: Stage-23 collection, the Argentine now provides his first remix for the label, delivering a straight forward no frills progressive workout, complete with buoyant grooves, emerging synth lines and a thunderous drop. Rounding out the release with the third and final interpretation of Martian Boogie is GSix who returns to the label for his second appearance. The Los Angeles resident has been noted for his borderless approach to production, oftentimes described as challenging and exploratory. Here GSix finds a cohesive balance between progressive house and techno, utilizing the main themes from the original with a relentless dancefloor approach.

His musical art is the synthesis of life experiences gathered during explorations of philosophy, Indian mythology, and winemaking.  Synthesizing musical elements is at the heart of the art of djing - the mix expressed reflects the mix within. 

Not only are MacIntyre’s dj sets borderless in scope, but so too are his productions, often incorporating various influences and stylistic blueprints.  As a producer and remixer, D.J. MacIntyre has, in a relatively short period, produced a substantial body of work, and is only gaining momentum with time.  His debut album, Tandava, planted his flag in the electronic music landscape, and subsequent releases have received acclaim from some of the world's most prominent djs, having been found up and down the Beatport charts.

Well-traveled as a dj, the Santa Barbara, California resident has performed worldwide - from Burning Man to Moscow, Playa del Carmen to Siberia - and all across the United States, including New York, Dallas, Oakland, and Los Angeles. He is equally at home in a dark basement club, as in an open-air festival.

D.J. MacIntyre also wears the hat of record label founder, having formed the boutique label SLC-6 Music with the mission of building artistic community through the release of top quality music from producers he meets on his journey.
