Anden's ‘Kinsall’ is a masterclass in tight  arrangement and production. Their mastery of subtle and perfectly balanced progression  is apparent as this monster unfurls toward its bass driven peak - inspired by the tones and riffs of the classics, but firmly in the mould of the Deep State vision. 

Brooklyn based Anden are due for a busy month, shortly after playing Fabric earlier in March and with upcoming shows at Miami Music Week, they are playing alongside Grum, Diplo and Anjunabeats coinciding with the release of DS003.

Hi I'm Mark and I have been enjoying electronic dance music since 1995 when aged 17 I visited Cream in Liverpool for the first time. But I think my earliest memories of it came listening to Key103 radio based in Manchester, and aged 16 hitting the dancefloors of Wigan and Southport.

In 1996 I visited Ibiza for the first time and also that summer purchased my first set of decks. These were Soundlab DLP belt drive turntables. The following summer in 1997 after returning from another holiday to Ibiza I made the jump to Technics 1210 MKII with a Numark mixer. I spent all my spare time in record shops or on the phone to record shops trying to get hold of the next big Dj promo and white label. Every penny I had went on records.

In 2008 I finally made the switch to digital and let my Technics go to a new home. Vinyl is still my favourite way to DJ. But digital is more cost effective and saves on space. I have still retained alot of my vinyl records. Learning to mix on belt drives turntables in 1996 and using vinyl for the best part of 20 years is something todays 17 year old budding DJ's won't be able to replicate. It helped me learn to key music, learn the art of beat matching and basically educate me in all things related to DJ'ing.

But old habits die hard and in 2018 I was back on vinyl, and buying lots of records. I bought Technics 1200s .... the best in my opinion along with the mkII model.

And now here in 2020 I have started the Expressions podcast where I will be showcasing some of my favourite progressive, melodic and techno and deep house tracks. Please check it out, and follow me for notifications of new uploads.

2021 update. I now own the new Technics 1210mk7s. After buying them with much trepidation all I can say is I love them. And now here in 2022 I've sold my digital gear and now operate as a vinyl only dj again. I really appreciate digital and what it brings ... but I'm back doing what I love now and thats the main thing. I just need more space for all the vinyl 😀🙈

Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds. My early years began listening to music from ABC, The Beatles, The Carpenters Dire Straits Eagles Fleetwood Mac Genesis Elton John Led Zeppelin Gilbert O'Sullivan Rod Stewart Supertramp Tangerine Dream Vangelis The Who and many more.
If you can't spot a trend in my current likes it may be because it is diverse. I love listening to all my playlists which contain tracks that I like and if you like any of the music you must thank the artists not me.
