German techno producer Kevin de Vries remixes Trance Wax’s ‘Beul Un Latha’ for Anjunabeats.

A firm favourite on Tale Of Us’s Afterlife label, Kevin has been a regular fixture at Afterlife events across the globe. His previous releases have also landed on Drumcode Records, Cocoon Recordings and Stress Records. In 2019, his remix of Yotto, SØNIN and Laudic’s ‘Hear Me Out’ found a home on Anjunadeep.

Trance Wax is an alias of Belfast-born producer Garry McCartney, also known as Ejeca. Celebrating the music he fell in love with as a teenager, his Trance Wax project began as an anonymous series of vinyl-only bootlegs back in 2015. Garry’s lovingly crafted edits of classics from Yves Deyurter, BT and Mauro Picotto became peak-time anthems for Bicep, Nina Kraviz, Denis Sulta, The Blessed Madonna and Job Jobse to name a few. A BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix followed soon after.

Two Trance Wax edits of Above & Beyond’s much-loved OceanLab project were released on Anjunabeats in 2019, with the debut Trance Wax album following in November 2020.

Kevin De Vries delivers big room drama on his ‘Aratak’ EP for Afterlife Recordings. 

Spirited synth lines, drum rolls, gripping moments of silence and weighty kick drums make the title track of De Vries’ Afterlife debut formidable club gear. ‘Sciamachy’ is more subtle, centred around a euphoric arpeggio which spirals to its apex. Konstantin Sibold contributes a fine remix, toning down certain elements of ‘Sciamachy’ to let others shine. Coming in hot off their latest Watergate Mix Adana Twins deliver their first EP stemming from the mix itself putting what could be the standout track off the compilation: their remix of Patrice Bäumel’s ‘Roar' front and center. After appearing for the first time on Odd Echoes 4, Moonwalk the Milan-based DJs and producers present us their debut EP on the label, a three original melodic and energetic cuts, with a fantastic and powerful remix by the Italian duo Undercatt.

The Neapolitan duo, Dario and Mauro, start the EP with the lead track ¨Solaris¨ a rolling and grooving cut, with a haunting and catchy melody that stays in your mind right away.

On the remix duties we have another Italian duo, Undercatt. They approach the rework with their characteristic elements and sound design, turning the version into a deeper and melodic cut.

To continue with the EP, we have ¨Enigma¨, which aims more to dance floor peak time, with elements of Indie Disco influenced percussions. On the same vibe to close the pack we have ¨Delta¨, where you can also recognize the duo’s signature sound.
