Little Simz sampled Ramsey Lewis's "Summer Breeze" (1973) in her track "Gorilla." I began this track by sampling Ramsey Lewis's record and turning it into a drum and bass tune. Then, I attempted to add back Little Simz's vocals, and it sounded insane.

TikTok loved it, so here it is in a full version.

The vocals sound a bit low in this version, but if you download it via hypeddit, you'll get the version you're used to listening to.

The “Tech House As A Style” mix series will consist of one mix released every month for the next 12 consecutive months each one will be exploring Tech House as a style instead of a genre. These mixes will be inspired by what I came to know and love as Tech House in the 90’s. Tech House as I was introduced to it wasn’t a genre at all but a style of DJing that included many different genres of music to create a new sound for dance floors.

Entering Pittsburgh’s DJ scene in 2001, Mr. Stitch has become known for his skillful mixing, masterful programming, and amazing versatility. Immersing himself in the rave and club scene since the mid 90’s, he was inspired to start DJing by the sounds of H Foundation, Lee Burridge, Tyrant, Danny Tenaglia, and Sasha & Digweed just to name a few. Armed with an extensive selection and vast knowledge of dance music Mr. Stitch has cultivated a soulful, funky, and unique sound… a blend of tech, tribal, deep, and bass heavy house mixed passionately with servings of breaks and techno… he’s even been known to throw down a drum and bass set from time to time. In 2002 he began to build his home studio and teach himself how to produce his own music. Whether it’s by himself, with DJ Linus Stick as The White Trash Mullets, or with Adam Oliveri as SoulGlo, DJing and producing music is a driving force in his life.
