Balrog’s debut album, “The Northern Powerhouse” is composed of 8 hard-hitting techno tracks, focusing on heavy, groove-ridden drums, driving basslines and obscure, distorted vocals. His tracks take influence from classic, hard-grooving techno but with a fresh injection of modern, industrial power.
The framework for the tracks was developed in the midst of the fallout from the UK leaving the EU and the numerous attempts to “level up” the north of the country through The Northern Powerhouse scheme, from which the album derives its name. Conceptually, the album is an attempt from the artist to dissociate himself from Brexit and the conservative government which has consistently stigmatised the most vulnerable in UK society and spread lies on an industrial scale in order to push forward their agenda.
Through the album, a series of linked tracks mirror the raw divisions in society, not just between The North and The South of the UK, but also more widely representing divisions throughout the world. As the album develops, a more hopeful outcome is suggested, seeing the culture of underground music as having the potential to build connections and incite resistance in an increasingly divided world.

We are back with the sixth installment of the Mutable Minds V/A series, nearly a year and a half after our last one. This special 4-track edition is courtesy of four newcomers on the platform: Lidvall, Gresil, Vertebral & Playmo.

	Tbilisi-based, Lidvall opens Mutable Minds VI with "Bell'', the ideal prelude to the hypnotic journey you have just embarked on. Next up, Argentina’s Gresil makes his debut on MindTrip with a neutral, abstract, rhythmic track dressed with proper intensity. The mysterious Vertebral hits the deeper side of things with his atmospheric ‘‘Road Trip‘‘, while Playmo (from the Faroe Islands and after remixing Pfirter on his side project Paralelo) takes over the concluding chapter with his enigmatic, modular trip on "Course".

	We find this Mutable Minds project to be particularly special as it fuses the musical prowess of world-class producers with the genre of electronic music, while introducing new artists to our roster. We hope you enjoy it as well.

Continuing his commitment to the supply of top-quality avant-garde Techno music, Berliner Marcel Fengler’s IMF (Index Marcel Fengler) imprint steadies itself for the third in a series of impressive
compilation releases, welcoming some of techno’s most uniquely talented producers to the fore with a selection of robust underground jams.

Kicking things off with renowned Indian artist Arjun Vagale, you get your first slice of ferocity on the ravenous ‘Delta Drive’ serving pacy, industrial techno with an ominous sci-fi feel before Suara frontman Coyu’s ‘Deliberate Assault’ continues the raw and racy theme, flooding the track with thumping drums and piercing percussive intensity throughout. UVB’s ‘Shinkansen’ comes next, breaking up the five tracks with an expressive fusion of vibes, combining dreamy melodic layers with hard-hitting, stripped-back grooves to deliver a refreshingly unique endgame. The Sixth Sense then plunges things back into the depths with ‘Regret’, building around an intricate arrangement of warped samples and hooking rhythmic phases before MarAxe arrives to seal the release with ‘Alada’ and its atmospheric blend of looping vox chops, ravey synths,
hissing hat grooves and hammering kicks, rounding off the release with a relentless ebb and flow of hardcore peak-time industrial techno prowess.

DJ Ogi got into Croatian electronic music scene in 1995. He is the founder of Rijeka's techno scene and also one of the leading people of today's Croatian electronic music scene.
 His style has always been based on techno, and even today it's a combination of pumping techno with  dark elements, marked and well rounded with his beastly mixing technique. His DJ and Live P.A. sets could be heard at the raves and parties such as Dance Valley a Spaarnwoude (Hol), Love Parade in Berlin (Ger), Apokalypsa in Brno (Cz), SDF Festival in Rijeka, ECO Festival in Nova Gorica, Stealth in Los Angeles (US), Aux Music Festival in Augsbourg (Ger) and  in clubs like Florida 135 in Fraga, Lov.e in Sao Paolo, Anti club in Toronto, Kantine in Augsbourg, Anti club in Toronto, Lagoa in Menen. Triple 777 , Fabrik in Ostrava, MDa in Florence, Cinema in Kiev, Ambasada Gavioli in Izola, Factory in London, Crkva in Rijeka, ExExtreme in Bratislava, Zoreks in Lleida.

With releases on numerous renowned vinyl labels like Submission, Planet Rhythm, Compressed, Patterns, Holzplatten and Compound (some of it featured on compilations like "Mayday", "Palazzo Mix", and "The Detroit Connection by Kevin Saunderson"), 
Today Ogi is behind several labels (Technodrome, Techno Factory, Noisy Room, , Dark Noise...) and his productions were played by numerous well-known DJ's, including the one and only Aphex Twin!
