Defected house hero Ferreck Dawn returns to the London label with fiery summer heater ‘Deep Inside’. His previous label release in April 2025, ‘Make Me Weak’ featuring vocals from Carolyne Byrne, showcased an evolved sound for Ferreck - receiving much radio support across the UK, US, Ireland, France and his home country of The Netherlands. The Dutch powerhouse continues to go from strength to strength with an upcoming set at the label’s new residency at Pacha Ibiza and weekend festival Defected Malta in 2025. For his latest collaboration, Ferreck Dawn enlists Hayley May, a talented singer, songwriter and versatile musician who is no stranger to the Defected family; her recent collabs with artists like SAINT, Solardo and TCTS have proved Hayley’s worth as one of dance music’s most in-demand vocalists at the moment. Capri - The Rhythm (Earth n Days Remix) [There Was Jack]

What links Moby, Snap and Whitney Houston? The answer is New York songwriter Toni Colandreo. They wrote "Loves Gonna Get You" for Jocelyn Brown (as sampled by Moby in "Go" and Snap in "The Power") and also this song, "Love Will Save The Day". The "Whitney" album that the original recording featured on was a massive record for Kevin McKay in the late 80s, and the original Jellybean production (and David Morales remixes) were in constant rotation on his turntables. His many visits to London's Roast parties (where the dancefloor reciprocates his love of Whitney) led to an edit of the original and now, this cover version. Wrapping the iconic topline in tough beats, driving bass and some killer chord stabs, Kevin has taken this funky 80s jam into house heaven. Every time we've seen it drop, it has gone off!

Our favourite A&R man, Sam Dexter, has been getting back into the studio swing recently. With a dedicated space in Wolverhampton alongside Mallin, the two have been busy creating slow-burning heaters for their Hungarian Hot Wax imprint, and we've been lucky enough to snag ourselves a couple so far for GU. "Caution" is the second of the two and is the strongest we've heard from the Dexter/Mallin studio since "Real Love". Whether this will do the 3M+ streams that "Real Love" did is still to be seen, but based on music alone, we are confident! "Caution" was written and released by Teedra Moses (who most will know from the killer Kaytranada flip of her "Be Your Girl"). On this version, Dexter & Mallin take the original's classy R&B vibe and flip it into a delicious deep house groove with a touch of new school UKG on the side. If you like your vocal house to bump, grab a ride on this one quick. It's a bomb.

With incoming shows at Defected’s new Pacha Ibiza residency, Mochakk’s Calling Festival and Dom Dolla’s residency at Hï Ibiza set for summer 2025, Dennis Ferrer continues to prove himself as one of the world’s premiere selectors. His status as a house innovator has been cemented through new ventures, including the launch of thriftshoppe with partner Olena Ferrer, and this highly anticipated label debut from an NYC legend heralds Classic’s 30th anniversary. Starting as a collaboration between Girls of the Internet’s Tom Kerridge and UK soul sensation Sophie Faith, ‘Affirmations’ was released in summer of 2023 prior to the collective’s full-length LP When I Was Lost, I Found Myself.
