DJ Physical returns to the core of his craft with "Beware of the Cool Kids", a six-track EP released under his label Young Savage. In this project, he explores his roots while affirming his unique, genre-defying style. Blending lo-fi house sounds with his raw and authentic aesthetic, this EP invites listeners to question appearances and resist hasty labels and classifications.
Inspired by the 90s house sound of New York and Chicago, this project reimagines those influences with contemporary rhythms where groove and breakbeat collide to create a distinctly modern energy. Each track embodies a rich musical pulse that remains true to DJ Physical’s DNA: an impulsive, raw, and uncompromising signature sound.

With "Beware of the Cool Kids", DJ Physical celebrates the power of musical diversity, inviting listeners to break free from conventions and transcend genres. Born and raised in the heart of the French Alps, and now residing in Paris, DJ Physical’s sound is one of a harsh romance. Perhaps it was the beauty and serenity of the snow-covered mountain tops and the ferocious nature of French techno moulding together that spawned his ‘Raw Poetry’ aesthetic; an emotive blend of dark and light that feels like it could belong in concert halls and theatres as well as underground sex clubs.

Following an outing on Lobster Theremin’s recent various artist fundraiser for Ukraine, and appearances on Rinse France and Running Out Of Steam, the Parisian local serves up five deadly cuts of brooding electro and techno.

‘Not So Human’ delivers the influence of trance on the contemporary techno soundscape, but doesn’t over-do it. Trance-licked, not dominated, the uncompromising cut of wave-driven techno is the perfect accompaniment for when you want to take things up a notch. ‘Sex Club’ maintains DJ Physicals’ fascination with ‘Raw Poetry’ - brimming with breaks-driven breakdowns, spine-tingling atmospherics and low-pressure basslines that highlight the variety of influence the emerging producer brings to the table.

Acid synth-lines and lively trance-inspo create an altogether lighter mood as we flip the record on ‘Mortal Dance’, before ‘Easy Dancer’ changes its tune altogether with a pounding cut of progressive, freaky electronica.

Closing the release is ‘Go Further’ - misty electro, Southern-trap samples and those distinctive, high-culture ambient interludes creating a sense of emotive mystery. A well-rounded release with plenty of left-turns, this is DJ Physical’s ‘Raw Poetry’ at its finest.

DJ Physical inaugurates his new imprint, Young Savage, this September with its first single ‘I Got A Crush On U’.

Recent years have seen Paris-based artist DJ Physical moving from strength to strength through releases on the likes of Molekül, Shall Not Fade, Raw, 1Ø PILLS
MATE and more. Now DJ Physical marks the beginning of a new chapter in his career with the launch of his own imprint, Young Savage. The label will be dedicated to his own music and collaborations, allowing total artistic freedom and to further
develop his own artistic direction, both sonically and visually.
The first single on the new imprint ‘I Got A Crush On U’ perfectly sets the tone for

what’s to come as DJ Physical offers up a high octane excursion through gritty, off-kilter drums, hypnotic strings, twitchy synth lines, rave-tinged piano melodies and a heavy dose of driving low-end via a winding arpeggio bass hook.

‘Flirtin With Ur X’ sees DJ Physical and the freshly minted Young Savage label continue its raw, dance floor focused energy. A composition laid out across five and a half minutes with a heavy dose of classic rave influence, emotive piano melodies, snaking bass grooves, cinematic atmospherics and hooky vocals ebb and flow amongst one another atop a sturdy, breaks laden rhythm section.
