Echoes from N Λ T U R R I T U - MATERIA PRIMA. For me, music is synonymous with the first vibration born from silence. The first and most direct from the source of being. The first matter - the primordial matter - will determine everything we experience, know, think and know from that moment on. Depending on the use of alchemy, healing or destruction happens from here. To listen to music and especially to create a sound journey means for me to follow this thread, to find a way to the source of existence, to the primordial. To what everything in this world turns: to the omnipresent harmony. In addition, I would like to point out again and again that this happens in harmony. Harmony means to bring opposites together. Dissolving our thinking of opposites. Letting go of our differentiation of things, instead recognizing the connections and commonalities. ALL IS RELATED - according to Jeremy Narby in his lectures. This knowledge is as old as humanity itself. We are allowed to remember again what we are, what this planet is all about, how we live in peace and most importantly where we come from - just follow the sounds to silence.

Sharing The Vibe Special 2nd Birthday Set by Don Juan Mezcal

The sound of desert blues has been a major influence on my musical taste since I first came into contact with it in my early teenage years. The expression of the culture of the traditionally nomadic people of the Sahara region is a beautiful blend of many different styles that speak to my soul. 

In this ecstatic desert dance mix, I've compiled some of the original gems and many great edits from some of my favorite producers. The second anniversary of the FB group "Sharing the Vibe" is a perfect opportunity to share these amazing grooves with a fine heart community who appreciate these treasures as much as I do. Apukuna (@Apukuna) curates and crafts a one-of-a-kind sound from the mountains of western Canada. As the electronic expression of musician Jon David, the Apukuna sound emerges from all regions of the earth through a deep process of listening, attuning and allowing. As a DJ, Apukuna has become well known for his live remixes that can only ever be heard within his musical storytelling. Apukuna can be found guiding ecstatic dances, shaking dancefloors, supporting mediative spaces, and most recently on the playa of @BurningMan 2022. His presence on SoundCloud has attracted a devoted fanbase – particularly to his long-format storytelling that has come to support listeners around the world looking to be guided inward for healing and for remembering the love that we are.

Apukuna allows his sound to travel into multi-genre experiences and he uses every opportunity to adapt and expand his sound to support all spaces. For this mix, Apukuna was invited to offer his own expression of the established frequency of the Hydrated radio show. He offers this journey to you as a meditation, a movement and a prayer for an awakening heart.

Brotherhood Gathering

Hunters Full Moon 2020

I couldn't have imagined it humanly possible to have such a delectably rich dance floor ride with a group of 10 men. Let alone on an isolated island unplugged from the grid. It was a brotherhood gathering, on a chilly, rainy weekend at Rawa Land. Don't get me wrong, spirit was flowing, but bringing the digital realm of electronics onto the desolate island that is Rawa Land, wasn't part of my bag man. Personally, I was completely at peace with drumming, flutin, and singing around the fire. We sat in ceremony for 2 days doing exactly that.... Sharing, reflecting, Being. Modern, Vulnerable Men unplugged in nature. Love it. 

On day 3 something shifted.  Brother Mane had me at the front of a canoe as he guided us back to the mainland. Parked at the marina, was my van with all that we needed to power a sonic space ship. The mission was to bring it all back via canoe to Rawa Land. We arrived back at the land just as the night was setting in. Out came the headlamps and power tools. Genny rippin', saws runnin, sparks flyin.... The men came together and 2 hours later we had ourselves a fully functioning space craft powered by a DJ booth from God itself. 

With the ship ready to sail, we shifted down to the fire to align on the mission. The rain spirits sprinkled as we circled in prayer. Cacao and Mycelium made its way around the circle while we each shared and felt the feels of the moment. Medicine inside, hearts exposed, we made it back up to the ship and sealed its door for 3 hours. It got nasty, buck nasty. Far nastier than i thought I'd be sharing... There was something about this all male container that words cannot describe....
