SAUCE OF THE HIP HOP CLASSICS

Since the first solo mix I ever did back on Black Friday of 2008, I've always made it a point to record a new one every year as a way of saying THANK YOU to all of my supporters, I truly appreciate each and every one of you! This mix is always comprised of a bunch of records I never used on mixes or really played out, somewhat of a "throwaway" mix for your listening pleasure. Of course not in the sense the records were wack! I can't put out wack music for the sake of putting something out! ;-)

These mixes have always and will always be a free download. But this year I have decided to open up a donation button, but not to support myself, but to support my native country of the Philippines and those greatly affected by the recent Typhoon Haiyan. Donations are set for only $1 AND FOR EVERY DOLLAR DONATED I WILL PERSONALLY MATCH AN ADDITIONAL DOLLAR OUT OF MY OWN POCKET!

"check it... this mix means a whole lot to me! This was the first mix that I ever did and pretty much what really put me down the path I have taken on this DJ shit... Big ups to my brother Buddy Vladimir Decastro for teachin the kid the ropes.. I learned a lot about DJing just by working on this mix... How to put things together in a cohesive fashion, how to flava that shit out, etc.. This was a strong foundation on my DJing today foreal... We worked on this for like 4 straight days from 9pm to like 5am... Had to go to class and work the next day, then right back to recording... Damn the good ol days lol... But yo... We been wanting to put up our old mixes for free downloads since the internet isn't what it is now a few years ago (crazy)! So here ya go, the entire mix free to download! DJ Quantum, is an artist and performer based out of San Jose, CA. He has been energizing street dance events, nightclubs, and global venues since 1997. 

Having had an affinity to b-boying at an early age, Quantum took his understanding of deep grooves and funky breaks and applied that same dance aesthetic towards his skills on the “ones and twos”. 

From making breakbeat mixes to playing at late night studio sessions for dancers, Quantum’s humble beginnings helped lead him towards a career beyond the Bay Area for sharing his vision of the global beat.
