Super Smash Bros.  (Japanese : 大乱闘スマッシュブラザーズ) is a fighting game developed and published by Nintendo that features characters from many of Nintendo’s most popular and historic franchises.  Unlike a typical fighting game where players beat their opponent’s health meter into depletion, in Super Smash Bros., the goal is to beat an opponent so hard, such that one powerful move will send them flying out of the arena!

Making it’s debut in 1999, each volume of the game has sold millions of copies, brought into millions of homes, and has ruined countless friendships worldwide.  With the newest incarnation arriving on the Wii U and 3DS this holiday, DJ Ranz, a longtime fan of the series, took it upon himself to remake the theme of this incarnation into a SMASHING record guaranteed to obliterate any dancefloor it touches.

He recreated the melody from scratch and built an amazing synth collage around it.  The result?  A remix where Trance grapples with elements of classical, jazz and Trap music.

This is a remake of the main motif theme from the film CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.  I got the theme stuck in my head while watching, so I knew I had to do something with it.

My goal was to make it into something I could spin, while keeping the original's dark and quarreling feel.

For those that don't know:  Sagat is the giant Muay Thai kickboxer that appeared as the final boss in the original Street Fighter and the second-to-last opponent in the popular Street Fighter II.  He starts off by spamming Tiger Shot projectiles at his opponents.  Anyone unfortunate enough to end up in close proximity of him or in mid-air will find themselves at the receiving end of his devastating Tiger Uppercut!

Here is my take on Hyper Potions' "FRIENDS", the theme song to the video game "SONIC MANIA"!

I fell in love with the original when I first heard it on Sonic Mania. I wanted to adapt it into something I could use in my sets.

This one was a challenge to remix given how complex the original was but I've managed to come up with a more DJ friendly adaption.

HYPER POTIONS - FRIENDS (DJ RANZ REMIX)v1.1

ARMS is a fighting game developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch.

I participated in a tournament for ARMS at a Nintendo Exhibit at Aventura Mall one day and ended up winning 2nd place.

Upon finishing my first battle, I've taken an interest to the video game and especially its theme song, much so that I've made my on interpretation of it.

The original version contained vocals from Japanese/Brazilian Singer Eliana Silva. Unfortunately, I was unable to get my hands on the acapella (which was mainly vocalisations, no lyrics), so I programmed one of the instuments to do the part she normally does.

I've heard about this game through friends and decided to try it out.  It's not often I play shooters, but this one has me hooked.  Much so that I've decided to rework the current theme song into something I can spin.

FORTNITE is a third person shooter video game developed by Epic Games (the creators of the Unreal Engine & action/shooting games Gears of War and Jazz Jackrabbit).  In addition to the main survival scavenger hunt mode, there is also a standalone, free-to-play battle mode called BATTLE ROYALE that has become very popular as of late.

Combining elements of Resident Evil & Minecraft, combatants explore a huge island, collecting sufficient weapons and health items as they strive to be the last player standing as unlike other games in its genre, players are only given ONE LIFE.  Dying in anyway results in elimination from the match!

The best got better when Nintendo defied gamers' expectations with the announcement of Super Smash Bros. The game isn't slated for release until the 2018 holiday season, but as soon as I hear the theme song, I loved it so much that I had to trancelate it into ammo for my DJ sets.

Nice to meet you. My name is Randy Derricott, an EDM DJ/producer & Pharmacy Tech based in Coral Springs, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale.
