The history of dance music is defined by duo’s: Soft Cell, Sasha and Digweed, Erasure, Fabio and Grooverider, Sparks, Clivilles and Coles and not forgetting the spectacularly-misnomered 2 Unlimited.
Brass Monkey Business are underground cheesemeister–in-chief The Remould and Balearic beatnik StAn AntOnIO. Their seasonal offering ‘Walking in the Air’ is the Christmas record you always feared; the aural equivalent of the skidmarks on the office photocopier the morning after the party. If tunes were Quality Street, ‘Walking in the Air’ would be the Toffee Penny; ignored and forgotten - left to languish in a tin which itself waits for Recycling day.
Yet listen carefully and just like a Toffee Penny, it’s not as bad as you think. Haunty and jaunty, this is the ghost of Christmas past – before children desired technology (and Amazon pop-up ad’s gave the game away what they’re getting). 
Unashamededly romantic and super seasonal, ‘Walking in the Air’s sack bulges with the sort of naughty pleasure Aled Jones has never experienced. Merry Christmas!
