Here is my edit of Kan Sano’s version of Roy Ayers ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine’ for the Razor-N-Tape label out of NYC.
I have always been a massive fan of Roy Ayers so was excited to work on this.
Kan is a pianist and instrumentalist from Japan and this release also features versions from Grey Area, Luvless and Left Side Wobble.

"Get Up" hits you with a rolling bassline that brims with plenty of pant flapping groove & wah wah guitar licks before that ever so familiar vocal kicks in for a full on Reggae Disco workout. "Weird Safari" certainly lives up to its name - a stripped back, dark & almost Techno sound, alongside tinkering percussion and spaced out wild animal noises surely make for a weird safari. "Dubby Pino" has you from the off, all the foot stamping & money shaking elements are present - hooky guitar, fat bass loop, infectious percussion, soulful vocal licks and a gorgeous little piano break.
"Mr Rossi's Backpain" starts off by getting the award for the best song title we've ever had on Rack & Ruin, but as well as that it's in the proper groovy dance floor tackle category with a bassline & guitar that commands your respect and then when the 4/4 kicks in at 1 min, well just have a listen.

DJ Rocca is a producer and musician. He started to produce in late 90s working on some drum&bass and breakbeat singles as Maffia Soundsystem from the same name club in Italy, where he was the main resident DJ. As a producer, DJ Rocca is also part of Ajello (with Taver), Supersonic Lovers (with Marcello Giordani) and Crimea X (with Jukka Reverberi). He has remixed big names such as Oliver Koletzki, Luke Solomon, Blaze, Isolee, Pete Herbert, Bjorn Torske, Chris Coco, Dimitri From Paris, Andrew Weatherall, Justin Robertson, Soul Clap.
DJ Rocca also runs his own label: “Danny Was A Drag King” and releases music for artists like Ajello, Supersonic Lovers, Luminodisco, Verdo, Marcello Giordani and Hard Ton.
In 2010, with the project DJ Rocca and 5th Suite, he reached the top of the dance charts in Brazil, with the huge track “Party Bobba”.
His DJ set are pure eclecticism filling club dance floors & festival tents around the world from UK, to Norway, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Austria, France, Switzerland, Finland, Czech Republic, Turkey, China, USA, Japan and Brazil.
