A brand new collection of songs with deep atmospheres and punchy grooves.

MACY is back with a brand new EP release. The project is titled “Les Fleurs Du Mal,” a reference to the legendary poems by Charles Baudelaire, an artist who had a unique way to channel some of the world’s darkest thoughts and concepts, while still being able to create poignant poetry. This attitude is found in MACY’s new singles, “Spleen” and “Albatros,” which are featured on the new EP.

The first is a song with a lush, rhythm-driven arrangement with a really unique vibe. The track extends over the span of 5 minutes, going for a dynamic and forward-thinking approach to production. The song acquires a darker vibe with a massive bass at around a minute in, with massive swells and cool side-chain effects adding motion to the track.

Albatros has a mellower tone, but it is still a very present song with a massive melodic vibe. The intro has a dream-like texture, with lush ambient sounds. The bass synth kicks in soon after, locking in with the bass drum, as the percussive elements drive the melody to perfection. This track has a slight retro vibe to it, and unmistakable European feel, particularly due to the retro-sounding synths that make up for a massive bass sound.

The Magician (Feat. Winkandwoo)

On one of my many tramp tours a French lady named Elain once took me with her. During the trip from Paris to Strasbourg she told me her life story and that she had decided, after more and more agonizing depressions, to put an end to her life. She implored me to accompany her, which I strongly rejected at the time. Rather, I desperately tried to convince her to continue her life. When we said goodbye in Strasbourg, she promised me not to hurt herself. 

A good thirty years later, I do not know what happened to her. In this song, I give free rein to my vision of what it could have been like if I had granted her wish for assisted dying. - A highly controversial theme- . I only give here my passionate pladoyer for accompanied and dignified dying.
