Baltimore house music icon Teddy Douglas drops a 60 minute mix for 5 Mag in celebration of his new album, "I'm Here."

@teddy-douglas-official has left a deep and indelible mark on house music in America and worldwide from his records with The Basement Boys and Jasper Street Co. — one of the creators of the Baltimore house sound that changed club music forever. Teddy Douglas's new album, I'm Here, debuts this month on Nervous Records and features collaborations with an array of outstanding artists, including Ultra Nate, Fast Eddie, Sipho and more. 

"The tunes featured on my new Mix for 5 Magazine are some hot new jams I’m feeling at the moment," Douglas tells 5 Mag, "and also some of my exclusive remixes, such as the classic Joe Smooth’ I'm Not Giving Up’ and Spencer Morales  ‘Without Love’ (Teddy Douglas Tedd Patterson Edit). The mix also features some brand new tunes from my first solo LP ‘I'm Here’, which has just been released on Nervous Records, including ‘Star In the Ghetto’ featuring Buckshot from Blackmoon, ‘Tonight’ featuring Richard Farrell and legendary Ultra Nate’s collaboration with me on ‘Searching (For Your Love)’. My warm up set for the legendary Danny Howells who played a superb 4-hour set after me for Resonate's 1st birthday party in Manchester.

I didn't actually know I was playing the warm up until about 2 hours before - which kind of explains why the record selection isn't quite what you'd describe as 'warm up' music .. that and the fact I can't bloody play warm up music :-)

It was such an amazing night with lots of ace DJs and gorgeous people. The vibe was on point - hope you're feeling it.

Founded in 2011 by Sean Dexter on Pure Radio Holland and is currently on Underground Kollektive Radio as a 3 hour show that has featured guests from around the world like Paul Johnson, James Curd, DJ Vivona, David Duriez, Jay Tripwire and many others.  In 2020 BayAreaBeatbox Live was launched on Mixcloud doing live broadcasts and in 2021 BayAreaBeatbox live started a monthly  residency on the legendary underground station  Fantasy FM in the UK on the Last Sunday of the month from 6-9 pm PDT.  Beatbox Records was Launched in  2016 featuring productions from Sean Dexter.  Sean has been a dj, producer, remixer, party promoter and radio host for over 30 years.  BayAreaBeatbox takes it's name from the legendary Roland 808 drum machine lovingly referred to as a beatbox
