On track 5 Jamiroquai gives us their awesome rendition of Kool & the Gang's "Hollywood Swinging". Track 6 is a remix of Maze’s "Joy & Pain". Track 7 is a mash up of Milkshake by Kelish and Billie Jean. Track 9 is a funk remix of Heard it through the Grapevine and a duet with Michael McDonald. And Jim Burgess gives us his remix of Nicolette Larson's classic yacht rock track "Lotta Love". "Gotta love" the sax on this track :)

I love simple base driven tech house. This is quite a minimal house set overall. Blurring the lines between tech and Afro house. Although there are a couple of outright (and excellent) Afro House tracks with Agboho and La Tribu.

Afro Tech

Does anybody read these or are they like online dating profiles 😂 I seem to either write noting at all or too much. I am currently obsessed with downtempo - slower as well as more uptempo tracks. I usually harmonically mix but decided to mix a bunch of chill out tracks with different BPM's instead. So it starts at 100 and ends in 120bpm. But you may not notice as it is incremental.

I like the idea of a set to dance to as the sun sets. Or as they call them in Ibiza, sundowner parties. This set is a bit dubby and a little jazzy too. And finishing with a beatless track as the sun slips under the horizon.

A real uptempo 70's Studio 54 vibe happening here. Lots of old school and new school disco. A touch of afro disco and latin disco too. Plus some soul/breakbeat. Out of left field is a brass band funk version of Groove is in the Heart and a rather nice remix of Cornershop's 'Brimful of Asha' by Norman Cook.

Uptown Funk 6

The soft rock, R&B/soul and easy listening from the 70's/80's that you teased your dad for liking back in the day is now cool again and your old man got the last laugh 😆

Another stack of remixes here. Long Train Running was originally performed by the Doobie Brothers but here it is the Traks version. What About My Love came out in 1982 and performed by Johnnie Taylor. Most people would know it as Lola's Theme by the Shapeshifters because they sampled it. Track 4 is Being With You by the smoothie himself, Smokey Robinson. Make a Little Love Get Down Tonight is originally by KC & the Sunshine Band. Rise is a very funky cover of Herb Alpert's Rise. Clearly track 7 is George Benson's Give me the Night. Then we have another Doobie's classic with Let the Music Play. Followed up with Dirty Low Down by Bozz Scaggs. And for my favourite of the mix is Too Late to Turn Back by Cornelius Bros and Sister Rose. And what a song to go out on - Sexy Eyes by Dr. Hook. Enjoy!

We have Silly Love Songs by Wings and Year of the Cat by Al Stewart. A little outside the genre are Brickhouse by The Commodores and The Pointer Sisters with He's So Shy. Pop Muzik by M is more New Wave than Yacht Rock but hey it's a great track.
