
As a dancer, the Blindance has been the space that gave me the most freedom — the freedom to express myself, to be weird, to be fully me. A space where I could let go of expectations, of what I “should” do or what others might think. A space to let go of sight — inward and outward.

I had been looking forward to playing music for this space again. It just so happened that we danced during Passover — a holiday that speaks of freedom — at a time when, in my lifetime, there is the least amount of freedom in Israel.

Dancing with eyes covered often invites small, subtle, and attentive movements — and the music usually follows. This time, we danced in a larger space, and I chose to take a chance — to raise the tempo a little.

החיבור הזה בין יום הזיכרון לחגיגות העצמאות בישראל הוא תמיד מורכב, השנה במיוחד, עם תחושה המדינה נשמטת לנו מתחת לרגליים, חטופים בשבי, מציאות כואבת. לפעמים כבר קשה לי למצוא את המילים לתאר את מה שאני מרגיש, או בכלל להעז להרגיש.

הרבה מהזכרונות שלי סביב היום הזה קשורים למוזיקה, שרים בכיכר, אמא מתחברת לרדיו, תדר עצוב ועמוק.
ישבתי והקלטתי סט במיוחד ליום הזה, להאזנה בבית, בשכיבה, נסיעה, ברקע.
מוזיקה רכה, עדינה ועמוקה, שעוברת בין הכאב והעצב לתקווה ולחלום, בכי עם נגיעות אופטימיות, רפואה ותפילה.

This transition between Memorial Day and Independence Day in Israel is always complex—this year especially, with the sense that the country is slipping out from under our feet. Hostages in captivity, a painful reality. Sometimes it’s hard for me to find the words to describe what I feel—or even to allow myself to feel at all.

Many of my memories of this time are connected to music: singing in the square, my mom tuning into the radio—a sad and profound frequency.  
I sat down and recorded a special set for this day—for listening at home, lying down, driving, or simply in the background.  
Soft, delicate, and deep music that flows between pain and sorrow, and hope and dreaming. Tears touched with optimism. Healing and prayer.

This was a truly special and emotional journey for me — a sacred home space I created and held in Mikhmoret.
My mother even came and joined!
Opening with breathwork allowed us to begin with high energy and dive deep into the experience.

A sunrise set at PERE — a journey, a celebration, an ecstatic all-night ritual in the forest, wrapped around the fire.
An event we had been dreaming of creating for so long — and finally, it came to life.

This set reminded me that prayer born from the body can take infinite forms. That there's so much healing, so much medicine, even outside what we call “medicine songs.”

It was a challenging slot — the deep hours of the night, people tired, the energy dropping...
Many stayed only because I kept saying throughout the evening: “This will be my best set yet.”

And honestly? I think it was. Not just a set I loved playing — but one I truly believe was powerful, alive, and something special.

All I Ever Wanted - Pere - Sunrise Set - 01.06.25

A few days before the set, Yuval — the space holder — told me it would open with a live flamenco performance.
I wanted to create harmony between the performance and my set, and that led to something quite different from my usual style — new sounds, a break from routine, and stepping beyond my comfort zone.
So the first half is Sesame on Latin,
and later I found myself drifting into house and techno territories.
It turned out to be a beautiful and moving journey that I’m really proud of — totally worth embracing the challenge.

Around the middle of the set, there’s a wonderful remix by Guy Davidov of "Ratziti Sheteda" (“I Wanted You to Know”) by Uzi Hitman.
It’s a touching and melancholic song that brings back memories of my childhood. Through it, I weave a quiet prayer — that peace will come, not just in dreams.
Sharing here a simple English translation of the lyrics.

My God, I wanted you to know

 And in the dream I saw an angel

The days continue to be wild.
 There’s a war between Israel and Iran. Luckily, I’m in Portugal — safe and calm.
This is a medicine set — filled with optimism and hope, rage, pain, sorrow, and prayer. That whole intense emotional spectrum we’re all experiencing right now.
 It’s woven with words — lots of them — in Hebrew, English, Portuguese, and Spanish. All the languages that make up who I am in this moment.
Some of the tracks were released just in the past couple of weeks — each one struck a deep chord in me. This is still the most powerful way I know to pray.
Perfect for lying down, gentle movement, cooking in the background, or driving.
Hoping for peace and unity, as soon as possible.
