How did DJ-SLT-UK make this song in 22 minutes flat?

Started of with the bass pluck note in C5, dropped it too A#4 then set about creating the bassline riff as I wanted a simple but demanding bass pluck riff giving it that commercial element. Then set about creating the drum patterns & each drum sound was given 3 x cloned channels to allow more panning or level control in the mix. Sprinkled a touch of swing on the beat about 24% as this gives it a natural movement in the song. Next started creating the synth melodies keeping 3 synthlines generally following the Bass Pluck bassline with slight changes and octaves. Then created a couple of extra synth melodies then reinforce the melody in key areas of the song and more towards the outro where its noticed. Next came the Piano melodies...kept it simple and wasnt trying to be technical with chord progressions as this song doesnt need that. Then came the vocals and drum rolls, followed by a light cymbal crash so it wouldnt be to hot in the mix as the song is a gentle chillout song.

Effects/VSTs Used: Valhalla Shimmer on vocals/Trance Gate 2 for sidechaining the synth melodies/Polyverse's Comet for various reverb & Elements Ozone 9 on Master Mix and All Indivdual channels so pre-mastered each sound very quickly whilst making the arrangement.
Synths Used; ROLAND JD-XI (my favorite synth) + Harmour VST Synth
DAW Used; FRUITYLOOPS Signature Edition

Producer Tip for Those starting out;

Never spend too long trying to mixdown after song arrangement - let your ears rest for awhile atleast a few hours then come back to it and do the mixdown this will reset your ears to the song and you will hear any  frequencies that are too hot or creating a muddy wash in the mix alot better. 
Also even if you think you have made a top quality sounding song makesure you test the song in other enviroments like your car or various types of headphones and devices this will be a tell tale sign if your mixdown - master is in the right area and sitting well prior to putting online or sending of to a mastering house as any mastering house will require the mixdown set at loudest peak around -3db too -6db so they have headroom to add sonics and key volume enhancements prior to compressions or limiters and also makesure you have no effects on you main Mixdown Channels as all of your effects should be on individual channels or grouped keeping the Main Settings area as flat as possible for the mastering engineers.

I've been making songs for over 40 years so I have a very fast approach to the whole start too finish of a song or remix hence why all of the above was done in 22 minutes flat...make use of your good ears in the shortest timeframe - step away - listen and edit as required - do that and your whole process will speed up and the sound quality overall will improve.

How was this song made?

Started of creating 3 different beats that could overlap to create a grooving soul2soul type beat like in the song Back2Life.
Next added the keys to create the backline of the song.
Then created the soft synth melodies for both the chorus and verse parts.
Added some samples doing there own thing in the background before coming to the vocals.
The vocals are purposely edited to be off beat as this creates the swing in the groove for this song and although wrong - it works.
Then created a few melodies on the keyboard to do a few extra parts in the song yet keeping it not to heavy on too many sounds so the song keeps the 90's club vibes that is long gone these days.

DAW used:  Fruity Loops
Instruments used: Roland JD-Xi - Never leave home without it:)
VST's used: Valhalla Shimmer - For vocals and instrument depths and space
VST Elements 9 for mixdown - keeping the overall mix slightly hot but adding dynamics that suited my comfort zone
Inspiration behind song; Remembering the 80's hit song Back2Life by soul2soul and wanted to create something close to that but not.

How this song was made;

So i wanted to find two guitar loops that were either in Gmin or Amin/Dmin so dug deep and pulled the selected two in the song.
Then added some keys lightly in the background as i knew that this was going to be a synth and string main leads thru the song.
Added 3 different drum loops from the vast vault and did some cutting and editing in certain parts.
Next came the lead synths using the Roland JD-Xi keyboard and wanted them to gently sit on certain notes but scale up or down the octave to create the melodies. Then created the soft bass melody to create a never ending glide

At this point it was time to do a mixdown using Elements 9 to and some dynamics and trim of alot of low end in certain channels.
Then came the extra percussion and snare fills and a tamborine for the final part of the song.
Finally added a few extra synth parts with more of an electronic dance music edge but not played the same way.
Then final mixdown - which is how is sounds now.

Effects Used: VST Valhalla Shimmer to create distance with cymbals and synths
Element 9 for overall mix and balancing including some dynamic work

One of my favorite R&B creations to date thanks to Nomali's lush harmonies from her vocals on a song called "Colourblind" which once I heard her song I knew exactly that I had to create this Future R&B Classic as her voice deserves to be heard and it's the first time I've over layered a verse over a chorus towards the end of the song. "I need Time has a 1990's feel about it (has a flow like artists Monique, Brandy, & Mary J Blige), like the songs I use to mix in the clubs couple of decades ago so thought why not let others hear the music styles that are just not really created in todays mainstream music so here you go, straight music, nothing complex, just groovin & chillin with a twist of jazz influence tossed in

How was this song made?

Started of with all the background sounds creating a beat with the various sounds then added a little guitar and keys and tiny piano melodies as I wanted the focus to be on the vocals and then beat and bass melodies, finally layered the vocals and added vocal effects as per below
Effects used; Valhalla Shimmer (Vocal Depth & Space), Comet Reverb, Ping Pong
Synth used; Roland JD-Xi for various small parts and piano

INSTRUVOCAL is a Genre that has been around for awhile until DJ-SLT-UK placed his signature songs into that genre to make it his own has created where the song starts as an instrumental until the vocals come in normally for the chorus sections and bridge of a song ..hence INSTRUVOCAL (Half instrumental - Half vocal), It can be of any genre but must start of as an instrumental for atleast 1.5 minutes of a song before vocals as this sets the ambience and flow of the song before the vocal drop.

                Musik House Studios is about creating melodies that are catchy and music that's original with a slight tendency to cross over genres. Based in Coffs Harbour, Australia, founder/producer Simon Chappell aka DJ-SLT-UK has been crafting his talents in mixing and melody making from a young age of 7 and only recently has decided to let the world hear his music thats not based on the "whats In" trends but more so about the feeling of the music created.
