Our Ship is proud to present to you a new member of the crew from Brazil and currently Sao Paulo based Groark! Leonardo Cabral, from Recife – PE, is the name behind the Groark project. Starting as a dj in 2010, Leo started his studies in music production after starting his career behind the decks. So, in 2012, he created the Groark project. With a mixture of forest and dark trance, with industrial influences and organic synths, trying to explore more of an abstract language.

Over the past few years, Retromigration has built up a loyal following and gained solid support from tastemakers within the electronic music press and radio landscape. For example, BBC Radio 1, NTS Radio, Worldwide FM, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Phonica, Ransom Note, 5 Magazine, Bolting Bits, SlothBoogie all giving his music their seal of approval. With representation from one of the scene’s most credible DJ agencies, Sounds Familiar.

His debut LP, ‘Straight Foxin’, is a carefully curated and crafted journey showcasing the creative explosions firing off in his brain. Joining the dots between genres, taking elements from here, ideas from there – twisting and turning yet never out of place. It contains fourteen expertly executed tracks, ranging from hazy beats and jazz-tinged broken rhythms to club-ready groovers, deep excursions, soulful footwork and even some jungle energy. An LP that has long been in the works (and for good reason), it’s packed with a flavour for every occasion Straight Foxin, mad flexin – Retromigration has laid down the law with this LP, a debut album done right.

Since 2019, the Manchester based label, Moments in Time, has had many strong releases, showcasing their commitment to signing upcoming local talent, as well as those more established names. Our third release for the year is from talented Irish techno artist and Amsterdam based, DECADANCE, and it includes a remix from none other than Parralx!

The lead track, “Saoirse”, explores the duality of tribalism and conflict through three fast paced, percussively intense techno tracks. The track conceptually seeks to symbolise violence, emotion and peace. Beginning relatively peacefully yet characterised by a tense atmosphere, the intensity capitulates through violent drums before morbid synths set the emotional and melancholic tone.

“Ehyah” juxtaposes primitive, tribal percussion with the familiar sound of a viral, modern day trap vocal. The specific sound sampled, was taken from a track which DECADANCE discovered through Soundcloud’s algorithm, which automatically plays viral music every time an artist’s privated track finishes. Tribal rhythms have evolved from our inception and the emergence of AI and “the algorithm” has intercepted how we engage with what was once a pure and primitive experience of sound. Ehyah, represents this conflict. Whilst Parallx follows up with a stripped back remix masterpiece.

“Death of Connla”, confines within the EP’s concept of tribalism and conflict, yet remains simple in its execution. Made immediately after DECADANCE, briefly returning to his home in rural Ireland, the lead is taken from sampling the Celtic Carnyx. The track essentially imagines the tale of Cú Chulainn murdering his own son Connla in battle and seeks to befit the soundtrack to one of Ireland’s many mythological stories.

My name is Guillaume Biamonti , my  dj  name Tala (discovalley records) . I'm 49  and was born in southeast  of France.
My passion for the "djing" began in 1993 .
My first style was techno , i have been practicing on vinyles platines Technic MK2 for seven years .
In 2000 , i discovered more deeply "psychedelic trance" which makes me change my style and i went for the first time to India.
I have been coming to Goa , every season , for 9 years . It helps me a lot for my music and my experience in  real dance floor !
During these years i mixed at different places such as : Hill Top , Nine Bar Bamboo Forest , Shiva Valley , Dolce Vita , Arambol , Kerim Hill , Karnataka , Morjim , Primerose , West End , Metaforce Party , Free Party .
