I created this mix while I was on my couch with a few friends who had crashed over after a wild weekend in Los Angeles. I wasn’t sure how good this mix would turn out. I was beat, hungover, and instead of regretting my choices I decided to keep busy. We had just woken up around 11 AM on Tuesday after a much needed sleep session that started on Sunday night.

From the moment I started mixing, I didn’t move or stop except to walk my dog or use the restroom. By midnight, I knew this mix had far exceeded my expectations and was likely to be a hit. I’m absolutely thrilled with the outcome given the givens.

After the fabulous Pines Party Weekend officially ends, in the early evening of Sunday, August 3rd, there actually is one more chance to dance the night away. Now in its eighth year, the annual last party helmed by yours truly has become a Fire Island tradition in its own right. This happens to be my favorite weekend of the year, and together with my other signature event on Labor Day Sundays, it is one of my most treasured nights to play.
