Our special guest on this week’s Cadenza Music Source to Cycle podcast is Funk D’Void.

Hailing from Glasgow, and now based in Barcelona, Funk D’Void AKA Lars Sandberg, has been a prominent artist in the techno and deep house scenes for many years.  His first records as Funk D’Void came on the Soma label, the imprint owned by the Slam guys, and he has continued to work with them since the mid 1990s.  Under the moniker Francois Dubois, he’s released some delicious deep house music for labels like Urbantorque and Komplex De Deep, and in 2010 he launched his own label, Outpost Recordings.  Add to this various other monikers and collaborations (Chaser, Darkside, Hipp-E Funk), he is also a  busy DJ both in the clubs and on the festival circuit.
Funk D’Void has always made music with both energy and soul, and always DJs with an encyclopedic knowledge of electronic music, delivering the best cutting edge sounds in his sets, so please enjoy this week’s podcast.

Lets face it, Times have changed and digital has taken over.  I miss endlessly flicking through piles of acetate to find "those" records that make me melt inside.  I could taste and feel the gems before even stepping foot in a bunker.  Some of the grooves I brought were tunes I heard out in the clubs of London and sometimes they were just of the cuff finds that have since never left my flight box...Either way, I miss those vinyl days.  This is a story where I compare digging to a drug like state, find some white labels and then go play it at a warehouse squat party. Hope you catch the nostalgic vibe im trying to set.  Vinyl days
