Chillum Trio started out as a collective of like minded musicians in 2002, however, after releasing an album together (which was supported by the likes of Laurent Garnier) the project slowly became the solo act of founding recording producer, Geza Szekeres. At that time he discovered West-African music, latin jazz and the universe of soul and funk, these new directions have been shaping his musical evolution eversince. In 2014 he turned out as one of the winners of Gilles Peterson’s Havana Cultura remix contest that gave him the opportunity to travel to Havana and record music with the creme of the Cuban jazz scene. One of his songs recorded in this session got released on Brownswood Recordings compilations Havana Cultura Mix and Havana Cultura Anthology. Budabeats Records is more than proud to release Chillum Trio’s first ever 12” single called Cosmotropica with two dancefloor friendly tracks mixing broken afro-house with tropical and cosmic influences.

Japanese born Yukicito found his love for Brazilian music after moving to LA as a teenager & emerging himself in the samba schools of one of the biggest Brazilian communities in the country. Soon after learning all the instruments & songs, he became a teacher & started making recordings with vocalists & musicians. 

After several hit remixes on both Wonderwheel & Bastard Jazz, Yukicito drops his 1st original 5 track EP. A dance-floor fusion the African rooted music of both Brazil's Atlantic coast & The Pacifico music of Colombia's Pacific coast, we feel the roots & the thump of long running Los Angeles party called 'La Junta'.

DJ Kobayashi has been digging for music around the world, you could say it’s his full time job!

His style varies from Mediterranean / Middle Eastern sounds to the Balkans and east Europe, however he is not foreign to the electronic beats, “Its start to get really interesting when you get producers/DJ mixing old sound with new beats”.
He is also a member of Gypsy Hill, where they combining balkan beats and Mediterranean grooves.

Barranquilla born multi-instrumentalist Pernett is undoubtedly a true pioneer in fusing Colombian folklore with electronic elements. Back in 2003, when he released his first album “Música Para Pick Up”, Humberto was immediately seen as genius by some, crazy and outrageous by others. How dare he incorporate synthesizers into traditional music? What would be called this avant-garde genre where gaitas, traditional drums and keyboards come together? To this date, Pernett has released 6 albums, worked with an impressive number of prestigious artists such as Phil Manzanera, Calle 13, Novalima, or Quantic, and is still influencing whole generations of forward-thinking musicians.

Originally released from is latest album, “Vamos A Hacer” and El Pajarito have been edited for the occasion, by talented recording engineer Benjamin Calais AKA Ben Matik,
We have the pleasure to premiered the A-side “Vamos A Hacer - Ben Matik Instrumental Edit”,  a joint collaboration between Pernett and renown British producer Will Holland aka Quantic. A heavy blend of funky breaks and cumbia. This is the short version edited by Ben Matik:  it takes a unexpected turn to a completely freaked-out “Puya” rhythm, where gaitas and synths perfectly merge together.
FYI a 7-minutes version, exclusive to the 10′′ vinyl, has been especially taken out from the masters vault, and edited by Ben Matik.
