Future Disco, Bunker DC | March 2, 2k24 (Part 2)

It’s been a while since my last podcast, but I’m ready with a new one to kick off the summer. Vol. 14 is a two-hour journey that starts with nu-disco and then builds gradually to a full dance floor house music frenzy - it turns into a groove set in the middle before bringing it back around to some soulful sounds and finally ending with some more chill tech house to wrap up the journey. 

There are a few new tracks from some of my favorite producers on here that I love so much and can’t wait to highlight in sets this summer, including Sam Divine’s “Saved By The Record,” Wh0’s “Sunglasses,” and Earth n Days’ “Stronger”... Illyus & Barrientos’ homage to Vicki Sue Robinson - “VSR” (sampling “House Of Joy”) - gives me chills it’s so good.

LIVE AT THE REAL LUCK CAFE  9/14/2024 (4 HOUR SET)

Fall is almost here in the U.S. and it felt like time for a new podcast! First, I am so grateful to everyone who helped me recently cross 5,000 followers on Soundcloud. It took 10 years and 181 posts, but it feels like an accomplishment I can be proud of. Thank you to everyone who has supported my career over the past 15 years and to everyone new who’s followed me in the past 6 months. (most likely to download my Beyoncé and Chappell Roan remixes!) 

Originally, this podcast was over 2-1/2 hours long, so I split it up. (a second one is coming soon) This one has much more of a peak hour and tech-house vibe - it's very high energy (!!!) - the next one will be a bit more disco and classic house. I love so many of the original tracks and remixes on here with all of my heart…  and I hope I get the chance to play them out at a club soon.

Billboard Magazine chart reporting DJ/producer/remixer Tony Ruiz has been behind the decks for 3 decades. As a native Southern Californian, he’s held club residencies in some of Los Angeles and San Diego's most popular clubs including Rich's, Montage, Circus Disco, Mickeys, Axis, Arena, and Rage.

Now an east coast transplant, Tony has become a local favorite on Fire Island. He currently makes regular appearances in Philadelphia, San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, Bear Week in Provincetown, TBRU, and London's  XXL.

Today he continues to broaden his horizons as a classically-trained musician, songwriter, and remixer with over a dozen  Billboard charting remixes and original productions. While he’s away from the decks, Tony proudly serves community as a high school drum line instructor and sworn police officer.
