Berlin based Até takes to the helm for the first broadcast of 2023. Welcoming the new year in style, Até effortlessly delivers an hour vinyl only club trax, with a specific focus on the hard, fast and funky - the perfect combination if you ask us! 👀   

About Até: 

The musician Até, formerly known as PRXM C, has her roots in Greece. But just like she found her base in Berlin she also found her creative output and purpose in becoming a self-made electronic music artist - mainly spinning records and producing electronic music with pop vocal elements.  Her sound consists of heavy basses, hard rhythms and refreshing grooves - she is driven by elements of techno of the 90’s, elements of iconic rave tracks and a new and intriguing touch of contemporary sounds and melodies. With her finding footing and acknowledgement as a producer and musician worldwide, Até made it her goal to create an artistic safe space for artists of all sorts in the form of her collective “KVETCH” which she co-founded.

A look back at Philippa Pacho’s profound performance in our Room 01 at the positivesource showcase, which she co-founded hand in hand with Blue Hour. The Stockholm-born artist delivered a knife-edged vision to techno during a two-hour memorable set at her imprint night in Fuse.
 
Like a gentle hold, Philippa's narration is as tactile as poignant. Dark without being obscure, musing yet energetic, no one can doubt the decade of musicality that has flowed through her veins ever since. Drawn to sharp kicks or a few clipped vocals here and there, Philippa Pacho's mix is an invitation, or even more an exploration, to a complex and appealing inner world. A stand-out.

For MNMT 402 we welcome London based artist, Sybil with a mystical two hour voyage spanning the deepest depths of techno and beyond, stitched together from a broad palette of textures, ambiance and psychedelia. 

About the mix Sybil said:

“For this mix I wanted to capture the icy freshness of January, a month filled with new energy, bright skies, and winter’s introspection. Inspired by a trip in the mountains: cold alpine air, glittering snow, and vast expanses of rock nestled amongst forests of pine trees. I also wanted to bring the sonic feeling of my Deep Mind Music (https://soundcloud.com/deep-mind-music) mixes into a techno format. A mix for daytime deepness, spiralling upwards on a shimmering journey through the sky.”

Forest Drive West is the alias of producer Joe Baker from Plaistow, East London. His music has created a stir across the UK underground and beyond, with stripped-down, atmospheric and hypnotic techno tracks contrasting with his heavier, jungle-influenced sounds – all with a connecting thread that explores intricate rhythms and inventive percussion.

Since 2016, Forest Drive West has been building a rapidly growing catalogue of releases, receiving critical acclaim for records on labels such as Livity Sound, Ilian Tape and Rupture London. His ‘Jungle Crack' and ‘Set free’ EPs show a stunning command of sound design and complex rhythms, and they remain some of Rupture London's most sought-after releases.

DJ Shufflemaster ends his US tour that was organized by local renegade crew OUTLAW with an hour at the lot. Shufflemaster, from Tokyo, was a Tresor resident in the early 2000s, and has been shaping the sound of techno with his productions since the 90s.

Next up comes Canadian-born polymath Darwin, who’s been getting Berliners talking ever since she kicked off her event series REEF back at now defunct venue Griessmühle. Tired of providing partygoers with the same formulaic sounds they’d come to expect, she started to play around with others, dubstep and bass among them. It was a fresh approach that through persistence ended up paying off with a form that’s as animate, subaquatic and essential to its surroundings as the ocean reefs that inspired the name. A UK-leaning sound, that pays homage to breaks, drum n bass and garage and fuses it with a techno more indicative of her chosen digs. Nowadays that approach has really gained traction and her parties blossomed into something much larger, encompassing her own selections, whether at UNFOLD or closing Berghain’s Klubnacht, as well as the launch of her SPE:C imprint. Her loose selection and low-end frequencies are a modern take on a long tradition of rumbling bass and out-and-out techno, brought together with a killer instinct for the hourly requirements of a dancefloor with high expectations. Following on from her previous techno stints at Bassiani, Podcast 251 further explores this side and delves back into her roots; a studio mix brought to you from this true pioneer, mastered by bestie Esposito.

Revelation Vol. 1 is a passage to singularity; a collection of sounds shaped by the tension between destruction and renewal, chaos and clarity. Each artist brings a different piece of the vision. It’s not a literal retelling of Revelation, but something looser-like scripture reimagined by an artist, more fever dream than doctrine. A soundtrack for standing on the edge of the world, watching it burn, and somehow still believing in what comes next.

You’ll hear traces of riders on strange horses, the shadow of a collapsing empire, and moments that feel like glimpses of a new heaven flickering behind cracked walls. The imagery isn’t there to preach; it’s there to provoke, to ask: What does it mean to be awake in an age like this? Revelation Vol. 1 isn’t an answer. It’s a mirror, a signal, a beginning.
