Michigan based producer Sango has dropped his new single, “North”. Sango likes to jump around between different genre’s: r&b, trip-hop, house, etc but underneath the core is a straightforward sense of soul that ties it together. His debut LP, also titled North, came out on July 23rd.

Four successive levels of meditation on non-frequencies. These levels are higher than the rūpajhānas, and harder to attain. In themselves, they are believed to lead to rebirth as gods belonging to the realm of the same name.

While rupajhanas differ considering their characteristics, arupajhanas differ as their object is determined by the level of the jhana:

fifth jhāna: infinite space (Pali ākāsānañcāyatana, Skt. ākāśānantyāyatana),
sixth jhāna: infinite consciousness (Pali viññāṇañcāyatana, Skt. vijñānānantyāyatana),
seventh jhāna: infinite nothingness (Pali ākiñcaññāyatana, Skt. ākiṃcanyāyatana),
eighth jhāna: neither perception nor non-perception (Pali nevasaññānāsaññāyatana, Skt. naivasaṃjñānāsaṃjñāyatana).
This has to be understood. In the fourth rupajhana, there is already Upekkha, equanimity and Ekkagata, concentration, but the mind is still focused on a "material" object, as any color.

In the fifth jhana, the meditator discovers that there is no object, but only an infinite space, which is empty. This perception motivates the interest of claiming arupajhanas.
In the sixth jhana, it becomes obvious that space has no existence. There is only infinite consciousness.
In the seventh jhana appears the feeling that there is no consciousness, but nothingness.
The eighth jhana consists in the most discrete possible state of mind, which justifies the using of "neither perception nor non-perception".
These "explanations" do not refer to any intellectual, philosophical comprehension, which disappear since the second jhana. They attempt to figure mental process. The arūpajhānas are part of the kammatthanas, and are referred to as the four "formless states".

Deep house was largely pioneered by Chicago producers such as Marshall Jefferson (On the House) and Larry Heard (Mr. Fingers) and with tracks such as "Mystery of Love" (1985) and "Can You Feel It?" (1986);[8] the latter had a similar impact on deep house as Derrick May's "Strings Of Life" (1987) did on Detroit techno.[9] The jazzy sound became more common due to the favored use of gentler, more organic (yet still synthesizer based) production and instrument sounds. Author Richie Unterberger has stated that Heard's deep house sound moved house music away from its posthuman tendencies back towards the lush, soulful sound of early disco music (particularly that of old Philadelphia International and Salsoul records).[10]

Today, the term Deep House is often misused[11], and is utilized to encapsulate various types of bassline driven house music.

For many centuries, a deep appreciation of insect and animal song has been evident in African, Asian and South American cultures, especially in the Congo and The Amazon rainforests, where insect and amphibian musicians have long been celebrated as poets. By the sixteenth century, insect-sellers were commonly found in the outdoor markets of cities, and it became fashionable to keep singing crickets and katydids as pets, for the sheer aesthetic pleasure of hearing their songs through the winter months, long after they have become silent out-of-doors.

The finest singers were given endearing names that described their songs or habitats. Deep Medi 2, "Congo Amazonia", is a production that gathers insects and animals into a menagerie of lullabies and chimes with sampled bird songs, cricket chirps, tree frog groans, toad calls, granular synthesis, Native flute melodies and thumb piano plucks. Certainly, we perceive and enjoy the pulsing choruses of late summer and autumn, but aside from a few outstanding species (such as the Common True Katydid and the Spring and Fall Field Crickets), most of us seem perpetually confused about which insect is making which sound, and we have no established aesthetic that helps us enjoy the beauty and communicate our appreciation to others.

Human hearing covers a little more than nine octaves approximated by the following ranges in Hz: 30–60, 60–125, 125–250, 250–500, 500–1,000, 1,000–2,000, 2,000–4,000, 4,000–8,000, and 8,000–16,000 and higher. Most insect sounds occur in the upper two octaves of human hearing, primarily from around 4,000 Hz to 20,000 Hz. A young person with “normal” hearing will be aware of most of the insect singers in her or his surroundings. Unfortunately, high-pitched sensitivity gradually declines as we age, a phenomenon known as “presbycusis.”

"Deep Medi 2" serves as a page break, a bookend, the arid valley after the vertiginous peak, in a time when one wouldn’t have thought that stillness and listening could ground the gravity of the flat earth concept. In almost every assessment, this type of album might seem willfully exotic, mixing together themes that appear to be irrelevant to that of the laymen. Who cares about wineglass drones, symphonic strings, sitar and the sound a macaw makes when it’s hungry anyway?
