Prince was one of my all time favorite artist. Erotic City was among one of my first 12" singles when I was a kid. So with the passing of this musical legend I figured I would pay tribute with my own remix of this dance classic with a West Coast Nu Disco twist. #RIPPrince

I had been itching to do a techno mix after the disaster that was my final Connect Festival performance(I know, I know it wasn't that bad but I am always super hard on myself), a sort of redemption for promising everyone(Elle Fast) a banging techno set and then having technical issues and reverting back to my "safety net"(the joys of an anxiety disorder lol). This is the result of that gong show. I recorded this in my old kitchen one night with a bottle of rum and bad attitude. I still have the rum but the bad attitude will only be revealed when I play stuff like this, which hopefully happens more often in the future. I hope you all enjoy it, it was heavily inspired by my trip to Movement in Detroit last year. As always, thanks for taking the time to listen, like, comment and share. See you on the Dancefloor

Every raver has their sunrise story. It usually takes place around 6 AM, after dancing all night, when the first rays of light usher in a new musical energy, something wild and magical. It’s the kind of moment people romanticize for years, even decades after. Such was the desired effect of Luzon’s 2002 classic Manila Sunrise. The tune contains a raw, tribal energy that few others can claim. Drawing influence from the Goa scene, it’s twirling pads and majestic vocal made it an instant progressive house staple that redefined the genre. We’re proud to bring back this insatiable classic for our fifteenth Yoshitoshi Classic remix pack, with contributions from three of today’s finest producers — label owner Sharam, Swiss studio ace Khainz, and New York techno legend Boris.

Sharam’s remix adds some modern flare to the original's progressive nature. He injects some dark, drum n’ bass-inspired sounds, a catchy new melody, and a beautiful, pad-and-vocal driven breakdown that transports listeners and club-goers to another dimension. Khainz makes his Yoshitoshi debut with a remix that boasts a myriad of stabs, effects, and other synth wizardry over a driving, tech house groove. His monstrous builds give away to exhilarating, unapologetic release. Finally, Boris transforms the track into a percussion-driven monstrosity that smacks of the classic New York 90's techno sound. The mix itself is built around banging drums and heavy bass, while the original’s delicate vocal contrasts the brutal nature of his remix, creating a powerful sonic dichotomy. As usual, we have included a remaster of the timeless original mix to complete this package. Enjoy.

Well, this is a bit of a special one we have for you this time round! A long overdue debut mix on the DSNT podcast from none other than Patrick DSP......but not just any old podcast. This beast is a 6 hour long, 3 deck  set recorded live in Tresor a couple of weeks ago! Patrick was kind enough to record this for us when he was closing the night out after Perc, so as you can imagine it is flat out banging :)

Marshall is the Co-Production and Talent manager of  The Connect Festival, Canada's longest running electronic music festival and has been playing music for just over 19 years making him a "veteran" in the local Dj community.  A distinct ear for music, solid mixing, impeccable programming and the ability to play any time slot keeps Marshall in demand for gigs and festivals all across Canada. A featured artist at Astral Harvest(AB), Oh Canada!(SK)and MEME(MB) in past years, the future sees Marshall taking a step back from Dj’ng to focus on his new family.
   Marshall keeps a ferocious pace for someone of his age and experience but as he get older and things get busier he is becoming more selective of when and where he plays. The man who always plays one of the “sunrise sets” on the Main Stage at Connect, he is as dedicated as he is old.  A Dj who loves to be the "set up" guy or "the closer", something most Dj's hate, Marshall rarely gets the recognition he deserves: The guy who sets the tone for many of the best parties out there, or sends everyone home with huge smiles on their faces. Marshall loves music of all kinds and you can tell it by the smile on his face and the sounds emanating from the speakers. House with a jazzy, soulful feel, gritty tech and soothing vocals are always focal points of Marshall's sets, which often turn into adventures all in themselves. Anytime you get to see or hear him, whether playing or dancing,  make sure you go and say Hi, Marshall has the reputation of being one of the nicest guys around, and always has a funny story to share.
