Last Knockers edit - a great unwinding remix of Chris Todd (Hot Toddy) and Jim Baron's band project 'Crazy P', who have been releasing on Paper Recordings since the early 1996.

ZigZagging is a personal selection and DJ mix by Opolopo of his favourite tracks from the Z Records catalogue.

"I was both honored and humbled to be asked to curate a compilation as well as do a DJ mix for Z Records. As I dug into the archives I was struck by just how consistent Z has been throughout the years. I had no master plan other than to pick the stuff that grabbed me. Boiling down my shortlist of some 100+ tracks to only 35 was tough to say the least. A lot of excellent and classic tracks didn't make it. Some because of licensing reasons, others because I just had to draw a line somewhere. I had a ton of fun putting the DJ mix together. A lot of a cappellas, custom edits and tweaks were used to create a coherent but zigzagging journey through the diverse ZR universe."

The album includes two exclusive Opolopo tracks, a new refix of 'Staying Power’ by the The Reflex and a new remix of ‘Sustain’ by Opolopo himself.

With over 30 tracks plus the dj mix included in the package all at a standard album price this really is exceptional value.

Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra returns with Black Sun, its second full-length album of 100% original, unadulterated disco sophistication, featuring members of the pioneering Brazilian jazz-funk trio Azymuth; a full orchestra with arrangements split between Arthur Verocai and Azymuth’s late maestro Jose Roberto Bertrami; plus members of the legendary Rio funk group Banda Black Rio.

Since its critically acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2014, the FOMDO imprint has released a string of remixes by some all-time greats of dance music, including John Morales, Theo Parrish, Mark Pritchard, Marcellus Pittman, Andres, Dego, Volcov, Kirk Degiorgio and Al Kent. To huge effect in clubs and festivals around the globe, some of the more recent remixes teased the new album material, which for the first time, is presented in its original, soul-heavy incarnation, alongside instrumental versions highlighting the album’s stunning arrangements and compositional brilliance.

Far from a throw-back – with disco music firmly entrenched in the modern club vernacular – Black Sun is ecstatic dance music at its finest.
