Wayne Calita resident dj at dopeobsession (one half of Lower Frequencies)is a London based dj/producer from South Africa.
Back When....
My love for music....
Started in the mid 90’s,when I became of age and allowed to party at Spice, Zone, Boiler Room, Three Arts Theatre for the famous Pharsyde parties as well as Long Kloof Studioes....not forgetting 3 Geuwels on your way to Stellenbosch.
Also had the Honour of seeing Carl Cox!

First vinyls and labels acquired was:
Daft Punk, Armand van Heldin and Eric Morillo on his subliminal and defected label.

Then relocated to London:
Moved with some mates and was spoiled for choice with a variety of  clubs and parties.

First Setup....
Bought my first Technics 1210’s decks and a Pioneer DJM300.
First Clubs played at....
After practising for 2 year’s and building up my confidence I got to play at “house parties” and smaller clubs such as Matt and Matt bar in Islington and the Chapel bar in Angel.

Highlight:

My career kicked off after meeting Will of Marama who got me a set at the White house.I then met Gareth Rossi aka Sleazy G of Dirty Dubbin and became part of the resident dj’s in 2006. Played across London at places such as Meet now known as Raduno,Ministry,Pacha,Egg,The White house,Gigalum,Koko,Hidden,The Cross,The Key,Canvas,333,Horse n Groom,Brixton Acadamy,Coronet thearte,Cargo,Crucifix lane,Public Life,The Custard factory(Birmingham),Rhythm Factory,Fire,Nomad,Brixton Club House,Bussey Building,Trafik,Westbourne studios,Cafe1001,MS Stubnitz(boat),Brixton electric,Orange yard soho, The Magic roundabout,Shoreditch platform,passionfm.com and the list goes on.
