Welcome to A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 33 - Summer 2013, the third in a series of all new adventures taking you (the listener) on a voyage through the seasons and sound. I feel that each season has its own unique sound, a sub-genre that provides an aural feel of what our other senses experience. 
 
SUMMER (strangely enough) returned with a week of heat and humidity, though it's clear to see that Autumn is close as the leaves are already beginning to turn colors. Somewhere a voice that was once so very distant is calling out that the party is over and it's time to say goodbye. As the Summer 2013 season nears an end, the word EPIC comes to mind. For this has truly been an EPIC Summer not only on THE MAGIC ISLAND but also with the record amount of festivals and events that have taken place, each one better and bigger than ever before, drawing hundreds of thousands of EDM fans. In fact this Summer may very well go down in history as the one when EDM conquered the world. 
 
As we leave IBIZA behind, let's cherish the golden memories and know that WE have all been changed for the better. WE have come to truly understand the meaning of ONE world - ONE people - ONE love - just ONE. In this uncertain time of escalating world crisis, I cannot think of a better way of living one’s life and spreading the universal message of ONE. WE are the children of TOMORROW and WE will change the WORLD.  
 
TRANCE carries with it an undeniable message of absolute PURE love. WE as a family have all experienced this LOVE, whether it is at the nightclubs, events, festivals, tours, etc. The time is NOW that WE take this message to EVERY being on this planet that WE scream it out: LOVE . . . ! LOVE . . . ! LOVE . . . ! My dear fans and friends, that is all, that is the only way that is the sacred message of The Universe. On the grand scale of things WE are smaller than even the tiniest sub-atomic particle, yet WE were granted existence and given two of the most precious gifts that The Universe has to offer: COMPASSION & LOVE . . . make good use of them. 
 
SUMMER also brings A COMPLETE BALEARIC JOURNEY in a truly EPIC way. In fact, A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 33 - Summer 2013 - DJ WOLF e. will be a full six hours in length and a morning on The Beach.  
 
OUR journey begins at 6:00 a.m., continuing DOWNWARDS until WE reach the very END. This is it my dear fans, WE have spent an evening on THE TERRACE, a night at THE CLUB, and now WE travel to THE BEACH and bathe in the glorious Sun and cerulean blue waters of THE MAGIC ISLAND one last time (at least until next year). This is it, THE END, where YOU will experience the most emotional tracks that I have to offer, featuring three full hours of MORNING MUSIC . . . ! Balearic TRANCE, progressive TRANCE, progressive HOUSE, Balearic HOUSE, HOUSE, beach HOUSE, classic Balearic Beat, MORNING MUSIC and CHILL provide the appropriate background for this VERY SPECIAL journey.  
 
I absolutely adore down trips, they are perhaps my most favorite part of a journey, for they are indeed the most expressive and the most capable of inducing that magic exchange of energy. Down trip sets require so much more planning and work since they are all about track placement in order to deliver the MOST EMOTIONAL impact possible. They are a true joy, and I sincerely hope that YOU will receive all that I am giving of myself.

There is something about being up all night and watching the sunrise, especially in the Summer when sunrises tend to be the most vibrant. A sunrise provides me with a feeling that everything is going to be just fine and the day is going to be a good one. 
 
I think my favorite sunrises are the ones that I walked home in after a long night of dancing at "Cocktails - The Pit," a LEGENDARY nightclub located South of Market in San Francisco. It was the early 90’s, back when I could dance for twelve hours and most certainly did, every Friday and Saturday night until the day they closed. I would leave completely exhausted and with my feet oh so sore, yet the Sun adding to the love I was already feeling, softly humming the melodies of the previous night’s music to myself. Special times those were, indeed.

What follows is my end of Summer tribute to Ku, but first some history . . . 
 
If you've ever visited Privilege on one of the big nights, a Manumission or a Supermartxe, it's hard to believe that such a monstrous clubbing destination could have been spawned from a simple swimming pool and restaurant space. 
 
Throughout the 1970's, this place was an inland sea of tranquility and haunt for locals and those in the know around Sant Rafel, with piratically no hint at the pizzazz that was to follow. In many ways, the contrast with what has happened since, represents the classic scenario of the conflict between those bygone, old Ibicenco memories (that lovers of the island both search and cherish) and the things and events that superseded them . . . and in the process lead to the reason why many of us are here today. 
 
Possibly the biggest single factor in the subsequent history of Ku occurred at the end of the 70's, when Basque entrepreneur and former Real Sociedad footballer, Jose Antonio Santamaría, expanded his Ku franchise from an existing Ku club in San Sebastian. From here, spontaneous parties began and a culture of high fashion, hedonism and excess spiraled Ku into the 1980's where it garnered fame as arguably the most reputed nightclub in the world. Amongst those in the know, it certainly picked up where Studio 54 had left off (after its demise in the early 80's) as the playground of the rich and famous. 
 
Alongside Santamaría, Brasilio de Oliviera (founder of La Troya) and Gorri were two of the most influential parts of the creative machine in the early parties. The party concepts and fiestas that now typically form part of the La Troya season were born at Ku during the 80's : White Full Moon, Babylonia, The Temple of Love, Hell, Prison, as well as parties celebrating the four elements, the four seasons, parts of the body or specific inspirational places like Goa or Africa. Ku also held children's parties, Somos Como Niños (Translation: We're like Kids), which Brasilio would also later use as a theme for La Troya fiestas.  
 
During the 80's, Ku was mobbed by fashionistas and popstars, you almost knew the names before you heard them : Roman Polanski, Grace Jones, Freddie Mercury and designers like Valentino, Moschino and Gaultier. The swimming pool area and small bar by now had a proper discoteca and various bars dotted around the complex, many in the same place they are today, such as the Coco Loco and the bars in the gardens. The white arched frames holding the club's canopy is still very much part of the integral design and structure of the current club, most noticeably in the restuarant area, Coco Loco and La Vaca.  
 
While neighbor Amnesia went on to gain particular notoriety thanks to DJ Alfredo's sessions, and the adventures of the famous London boys (Oakenfold, Rampling, et al), Ku was always something slightly different. The dimensions have long been a key factor, open air or with roof, this location is vast and dwarfs anything that even Ibiza has to offer. It combines the maze like layout and hidden corners of Pacha, with the decadent, botanical feel of Es Paradis. In its heyday, not even Pacha could compete with the way it attracted the celebrities. Freddie Mercury and Montserrt Caballe famously filmed the video for their anthem "Barcelona" here in 1987.  
 
The beginning of the end, in many ways, came towards the end of the 80's just as the dance music scene really exploded in the U.K. and other parts of Europe.  
 
Compelled to put a roof on the building by local authorities to comply with sound restrictions, the cost of such a task proved too heavy a weight to bear and crippled Santamaría and his Ku associates, particularly after the initial installation collapsed in 1990. Santamaría was then implicated in a big narcotics case that was being investigated at the time and although never proven guilty, he found himself ever more deeply embroiled in allegations and the political games of chess surrounding it. His political ties, combined with previous fame as a local footballer and renowned businessman, made him a target for ETA and he was eventually assassinated in 1992 in his home town of San Sebastian. 
 
Ku, now with permanent roof structure, entered a purgatory-like period in the early part of the 90's when everything that had represented what Ku was about slowly disappeared and the electronic music revolution quickly gathered pace. Ironically, many of changes that spelled the end for Ku evolved into the iconic symbols in the new era of the club and the arrival of foreign promoters to the venue. Most specifically, the perhaps ghastly looking, but grandiose and breathtaking huge fans located at the back of the club, stood as testament to the scale of the place and are certainly the first thing I remember seeing upon entering the club for the first time.  
 
By the early to mid-90's, British promoters particularly had invaded the island and Ku was one of the most popular destinations for their parties; Manumission, most notoriously from 1994, as well as Cream, who did many of their early events here. As late as 1995, the club was still known as Ku before the name change to Privilege the same year, the Anglicized name giving no hint to the Basque origin of new owner, Jose María Etxaniz.  
 
The 90's, mainly thanks to Manumission, rocked as hard as they could given the circumstances. There was no more open air set-up and there were lots more people (never has there been more people at this place than for Manumission in the late 90's) but the hedonism and excess and wild nature of what had gone before, continued. It was not just the sex show, which the Mish became most famous for, it was the outlandish production and costumes, the other worldly themes, it was Fatboy Slim DJing in the toilet, it was the fact the toilets had a DJ at all, it was the Coco Loco madness till 9:00 or 10:00 am. In those morning hours, there may have been a roof on the place, but as the Sun streamed through the windows of the Coco Loco and then the Main Room, the spirit of Ku was alive . . . and kicking like a bastard . . . ! 
 
The story since is too contemporary for us to continue here, a huge screen for projections has replaced the 25m windows at the back of the Main Room that allowed the Sun to radiate through in the mornings. The sun is not even up sometimes by the time the club closes these days. The historic footprints of Ku are everywhere in Privilege; the basic layout, the garden areas and the Coco Loco, the swimming pool still adorned with Ku under it's water and perhaps most potently, the statue of Ku (the ancient Hawaiian God) whose presence still guards over the fiction like history of the club.

I hope that this Summer was as magic and special for YOU as it was for me . . . 
 
I recommend listening to the Summer Sessions (31 - 33) in order, allowing YOU to experience the complete journey and full emotional impact. Eighteen full hours is a lot, though worth every moment. This is truly when I am at my best, long journeys full of ups and downs, twists and turns, happiness and sadness (along with every emotion in-between). I've never been one to play a four set starting at 140 bpm and ending at the same tempo. I understand that many fans of TRANCE enjoy those epic sets, and they do have their rightful place, though I feel a true artist is one who can manipulate his or hers audience emotions and create a very special magic. Most artists of this genre don't seem to feel the need or for that matter have the time. It takes an innate knowing, an understanding . . . Kudos to the artists / DJ's who are capable of such journeys, for they are The Wizard who possesses the true magic.

A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 4 - Spring 2011

Welcome to A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 45 - Summer 2014, the third in a series of all new adventures taking YOU (the listener) on a voyage through the seasons and sound. I feel that each season has its own unique sound, a sub-genre that provides an aural feel of what our other senses experience.

SUMMER . . . that week of Summer was the only gift the season provided as the leaves are beginning to turn, and the temperatures have made in down to the upper 30's at night. I have a feeling that Autumn is coming early to my little corner of the world (Holland, MI USA). I've already turned on the heat & put my cold weather bedding out. YOU all know I am completely enamored with the approaching season, yet I'm not at all ready to bid farewell to Summer, even if it was the Summer the wasn't. The locals have been taking that all this is a sign of a very bad Winter to come; I try my best to avoid hearing those words. There were at least a few incredible sunsets this Summer, so vibrant that I actually took time away from work to go outdoors and watch every second as the gold that painted the sky seemed almost as if it were liquid. A spectacle that even I find difficult to truly describe, surreal is the perfect word as the radiance were something beyond what nature could create. Oranges followed (sometimes so bright the glow was everywhere), than pinks & purples as the Sun dipped below the horizon. I've been thinking about the #EPIC SUMMER sessions, and that when they began earlier this month, I wasn't at all in the mood. I had put myself under tremendous pressure to deliver a journey that would not only blow YOU away, but myself as well. Considering that (to be completely honest) it’s been a long time since I have really given it my all. Well . . . I amazed myself (yet again) as I know these sessions are some of the very best that I have created, and it wasn't easy. There's a folder on my desktop of 541 tracks that I didn't use, not that they weren't good, but I needed the very best, the most emotional, the one's that told a story. I'm, well . . . somewhat sad that it's over until next year. But hey, it was all for YOU. OKAY . . . onto A COMPLETE BALEARIC JOURNEY - SESSION 45 - SUMMER 2014 and the THE END of a long awaited #EPIC SUMMER . . . !

SUMMER . . . my last few days on THE MAGIC ISLAND were always the most difficult. I felt such an overwhelming sense of loss, as if something so dear and precious to me had be forcefully ripped from my grasp. I referred to it as "the end of the party" feeling, an enormous crash. It was as if EVERYTHING in my world was ending. In some ways it was, since I never took #IBIZA or returning to the island for granted. For that matter, I never will, as I consider THE MAGIC ISLAND to be a privileged gift that so few have the opportunity to experience in their lifetime. So I leave one home for another, always on a nighttime flight for leaving #IBIZA in the Sun would be impossible to bear. It's not much better arriving back in The States during the bright morning hours, a town car waiting and a long drive through the city. Feeling so out of place during the morning rush, people scurrying about to get where they need to be going. Here I am still dressed in white linen, sunglasses on, looking as if I am headed off to some far away destination. If only they knew I had just returned from so far away place that I call home. There's not much to do once I get there, everything is as I left it, frozen in time, well except for the cats. They eagerly try to make it better, though I have been through this before and I know that only sleep will ease this pain. My bed awaits & that is where I will remain. I know in my heart that goodbye (in this case) is not forever; I shall return again . . . when it’s time.

Of note : Looking ahead to November, YOU will be getting A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 46 - Autumn 2014, nightbreed four - PROMETHEUS - DJ WOLF e. and A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 47 - Autumn 2014. WE will then be current regarding all music posts. Again, post dates mainly depend on whether Sound Cloud has an issue with the upload. I am also going to try and post a few more re-edits / remixes, if time allows as the journeys come first. Regarding goals on The Official DJ WOLF e. Fan Page & Sound Cloud, I am quite pleased to say that WE are right on track. Twitter on the other hand definitely needs some help, as the numbers now stand, I will not reach this year’s goal by a long shot. Therefore, I am counting on YOU, my friends & #TRANCEFAMILY. Its 6:00 a.m. on an early September morning & the crowd has thinned enough for US to grab a quick cocktail and still return to the space WE claimed on the dance floor some eight hours ago. OUR favorite time is upon US, as the first rays of the rising Sun stream through the skylights. Many of the other dancers have left, but not US as WE know this is when the down trip begins. The most emotional part of every journey, and that is what WE are all about. That’s why the center of the dance floor is so important to US, the energy revolves in a spiral around US, and WE around the energy. It's like if YOU weren't there & YOU didn't experience it first hand, YOU missed it, there's just no way to put that high into words. WE are lucky people, WE have LIVED THE DREAM once again, and if only for a short while, THE MAGIC ISLAND was OURS; epic TRANCE, Balearic TRANCE, progressive TRANCE, Balearic TRIBAL, Balearic HOUSE, progressive HOUSE, HOUSE, Balearic Beat, Nu DISCO, deep HOUSE
 & CHILL provide the appropriate backdrop.

I strongly recommend listening to the Summer Sessions (43 - 45) in order, allowing YOU to experience the complete journey and full emotional impact. I have never been one to play a four set starting at 140 bpm and ending at the same tempo. I understand that many fans of TRANCE enjoy those epic sets, and they do have their rightful place, though I feel a true artist is one who can manipulate his or hers audience emotions and create a very special magic. Kudos to the artists / DJ's who are capable of such journeys, for they are The Wizards who possess the true magic. 

Do YOU even KNOW . . . ? How YOU affect me, UNLOCK the ceiling, To the SKY overhead . . . HOW can I GROW . . . ? There's already too MUCH, But then like the WARM rush, YOU wrap around ME . . . I can't get ENOUGH, I am INSATIABLE, I TRY but can't get far, It’s never BEEN this GOOD . . .

A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 45 - Summer 2014

Welcome to A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 46 - Autumn 2014, the first in a series of all new adventures taking YOU (the listener) on a voyage through the seasons and sound. I feel that each season has its own unique sound, a sub-genre that provides an aural feel of what our other senses experience.

AUTUMN . . . there are a lot of things that I wait all year for their arrival. Two of which are this season & the month of October. A person who once played such an important role in my life sent me an e-mail on the Autumnal Equinox . . . I suppose that it was their way of communicating that "my time" had arrived; a rather touching gesture consider that this person was once my personal spiritual advisor. Autumn much like Summer decided to make a brief appearance here in Holland, MI USA (my little corner of the world). The leaves which usually put on a display of nature’s fireworks the likes I hadn't ever seen until I relocated to Michigan were to say the least quite a disappointment, and considering that my home is surrounded by forests on one side I have quite the view. Well . . . the "show" of colors was muted, no fiery reds, neon oranges, & electric yellows this year. Though at least some of colors were there, that is until the temperature decided to make an entirely unexpected plunge into the lower 20's. October, along with being the month of ultimate change and mystery is also full of trickery (not the dress up in costume & beg for candy type). Therefore I suppose getting nearly a foot & a half of SNOW on Halloween (Samhain) really wasn't that bizarre after all. I do recall the locals saying that a bad Winter was on the horizon, except for one thing, WE are still very much in Autumn. So, I give to YOU (my dear fans) through music all the emotions that I would have experienced in my favorite season had it much like the long lost Summer ever truly arrived. I hope A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 46 - Autumn 2014 - DJ WOLF e. affords YOU with an opportunity to "feel" as deeply as myself during this special time . . .

Its 10:00 p.m. on an October night as WE walk to OUR destination. WE look more like Eskimos than club goers bundled in Winter gear (shouldn't it be Autumn). Down empty late night streets where a cold wind spins the now dead & fallen leaves into dervishes. Clouds weave their way across the sky, obscuring what would be a full Moon. THE MAGIC ISLAND feels so very far away, yet OUR memories remain fresh & alive, though WE know they too will soon fade. Upon OUR arrival at the club WE can't help but notice the sheer lack of other brave souls who traveled out on a night when most would be home curled up next to a roaring fire. The emptiness makes the space seem enormous but also touches something deep inside US. Then again, at least WE'LL have plenty of room to dance. WE came with the hope of a very emotional trip this evening, and it seem that is exactly what WE are going to get. WE begin at the very bottom and travel slowly upwards; CHILL, progressive HOUSE, progressive TRANCE, & epic TRANCE provide the appropriate backdrop . . .

A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 46 - Autumn 2014

Welcome to A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 47 - Autumn 2014, the second in a series of all new adventures taking YOU (the listener) on a voyage through the seasons and sound. I feel that each season has its own unique sound, a sub-genre that provides an aural feel of what our other senses experience.

AUTUMN . . . here WE are again in one of those in-between months. November is just sort of stuck between something, and well . . . something (for lack of a better way of writing). Autumn decided to make a rather unexpected return, in fact WE made a full recovery after the nearly two feet of snow that fell during the first week of the month. The temperatures rose back into the lower 50's, and if it weren't for days & nights of never-ending clouds, rain & fog, I wouldn't be complaining. Though it all feels and looks (for that matter) more like the Scottish moorlands than my little corner of the world (Holland, MI USA). The lack of sunlight is beginning have the usual effect on me, where crawling into bed and hiding under a pile of comforters would be much easier than working on music. Sorry, but that's how I feel . . . and I'm not asking for sympathy. The one thing that (quite literally) keeps me going is getting out all the journeys to YOU (which will be a huge burden off my shoulders) and some super positive information that I'll be sharing with YOU in just a few weeks . . . ! It is of great disappointment to me that I let YOU down and will be unable to complete the remaining backlog until January, when I so very much desired a new beginning for US. I seem to be having a lot of difficulty with A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 47 - Autumn 2014 - DJ WOLF e. & A Complete Balearic Journey - Session 48 - Autumn 2014 - DJ WOLF e., as Autumn is not be very cooperative, which makes a storyline and track selection feel impossible. Yes, I agree that is a strange statement, but (again) it's how I feel . . . Speaking of which, I need to "feel" in order to create, and quite honestly, I'm not feeling much these days . . .

I offer to YOU my sincerest of apologizes for this unacceptable situation that I allowed to occur. Above all, thank YOU (my dear fans) for YOUR patience & understanding.

Its 2:00 a.m. on late November night / early morning as WE dance on. The emotional trip that WE hoped for is far beyond OUR expectations. That old feeling, the "sad / happiness" (another one of those 'you had to be there to fully understand' moments) has returned & that my friends is a very good thing. That is life, plain and simple. To feel all of those emotions in such an overwhelming way is to be truly alive. WE are lucky people, let's not ever forget. WE take a short break to watch the lightshow, always difficult when surrounded by 1,000 people. Lost in the multitude of colors it's as if WE'RE in a vivid dream of sorts, though WE know in OUR hearts the only dream is that of THE MAGIC ISLAND. Enough waxing melancholy; WE head to the bar for a quick glass of Champers and then back to the dance floor, traveling further upwards toward the peak & beginning a slow descent; classic TRANCE, epic TRANCE & progressive TRANCE provide the appropriate backdrop . . .

Welcome to the long awaited new series Home for the Holidays (FROZEN) - DJ WOLF e., an eclectic segued journey of music for the Holiday Season. The concept for this series was originally created in 2006, when I was retailing various mixed CD's at a local establishment. I first heard this track on CD 1 (Mixed by DJ Julian Marsh) of Winter Party Volume 2 by Centaur Music, Inc. It became an instant favorite & one of those rare tracks that was impossible to find. I finally got my hands on the CD Single only to discover the mix I had spent years search for was (unfortunately) a vinyl only release. I was able to locate a wonderfully contructed edit by Mark Andrews, though I felt the track needed something more, so Mark Vallese & I added an extended intro & outro using the Club Mix, in addition to some cleaver loops & a bit of cutting & pasting. The end result . . . a DJ friendly re-edit of a classic Balearic Beat track, extended to give you even more of that magic sound.

"Survivor" was originally released in 1984 by the late Mike Francis as his third single and became an instant Balearic Beat classic. Two years before death in 2009 he began collaborating with classic TRANCE artists Blank & Jones on their "Relax" compilation, providing vocals on remakes of his classic tracks including "I Love You" and "Survivor", as well new productions including "City Lights" originally by William Pitt and "Josephine" originally by Chris Rea. Upon his death, Blank & Jones created a massive four discs tribute which they personally curated, "Anthology" - Mike Francis saw the light of day in 2011 & contained all of his releases, B-sides, and extended versions, all digitally remastered with many available on CD for the very first time. "So Eivissa" which appeared on "Relax - Edition Seven" was Blank & Jones creative take on "Features Of Love", which it sampled. Fittingly enough, on "Relax - Edition Eight", Blank & Jones added "Survivor" [Satin Jackets Dub Mix & Satin Jackets Remix] - Mike Francis, updated for today's generation in the genre of ELECTRONICA. I combined both the Dub & Remix, added a 96 beat intro & outro making the track DJ friendly, used loops and a bit of cut and paste work which gives the track additional length. The end result . . . an absolutely beautiful track that is definitive of the new MORNING MUSIC sound. I'm always skeptical of remakes, especially when it comes to classic tracks, as I feel most are better left as originally intended, but this . . . PURE MAGIC!

Originally released in 1970, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" became one of Diana Ross biggest hits and a true anthem. Standing high on its original version until 2009 when the track was remixed by Almighty Records as part of the groundbreaking "Almighty Presents: We Love Diana Ross. The Remix Collection." Last year, the track was again remixed (in order of appearance) by Country Club Martini Crew, Chris Cox, Eric Kupper, Joe Gauthreaux & Leanh, StoneBridge and Oscar Velazquez & Brett Henrichsen. None of the above were officially released other than as promotional singles sent to "select" DJ's. After a listen, I felt the StoneBridge Retro Classic Mixes were more than worthy of a DJ WOLF e.'s Extended Re-Edit. I used the StoneBridge Retro Classic Dub, StoneBridge Retro Classic Mix, StoneBridge Retro Classic Dub Instrumental & StoneBridge Retro Classic Dub (again) to create what I feel is a full length track with plenty of drama. Quite a bit of editing was involved, including some major cut and paste work. I added a vocal sample at the beginning and end of the track, hence the name & also my standard 96 beat intro and outro making the track DJ friendly and bringing it to a length of 10 minutes & 30 seconds. The end result, a breath of new life into an all-time classic and a track that is simply perfect for the morning hours or a Summer tea dance for that matter.

"How Many Fucks" was the eleventh single in a string of nonstop dance club hits for Erika Jayne; as an artist known for breaking all the rules, this track is definitely her most explicit. Erika Jayne (the naughty alter ego of Mrs. Erika Girardi) joined the cast of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" in its sixth season. She recently released a tell-all memoir with Brian Moylan, "Pretty Mess", with color photos and personal stories. "I hope my intimate story can inspire readers to become their own strong, confident and vibrant pretty messes", she said in the book's press release. I used the RNG Remix as a base to create what I feel is (to date) one of my best efforts at re-editing. I began by adding my standard 96 beat intro and outro making the track DJ friendly and some major cut and paste which completely rearranged the structure of the original remix. I added vocal samples throughout the track, providing more energy and bringing it to the final length of 7 minutes and 54 seconds. The end result, a fun albeit a dirty piece of ELECTRONICA that is simply perfect for evening / late night hours even with its low tempo of 123 beats per minute. The clever name (read between the lines) is so Erika Jayne and perfectly appropriate. This track is from the upcoming PHOENIX RISING presents TWISTED II (again!) - The Dark Side of Sunday Tea - I.M.L. Weekend - Chicago - DJ WOLF e. which will make an appearance SUNDAY, MAY 27, 2018 on my SoundCloud page at http://soundcloud.com/dj-wolf-e

Sweet Freedom [Direct Hit Remix - DJ WOLF e.'s Extended Re-Edit] - Shawn Christopher is now available on my SoundCloud page at http://soundcloud.com/dj-wolf-e "Sweet Freedom" by Michael McDonald was originally released in 1986 as the theme from the film "Running Scared" and became an instant POP classic, a song that practically everyone has heard; with patriotic lyrics and a catchy sound it's not easily forgettable. Shawn Christopher released a cover version in 1997 with a few mixes in the genre of HOUSE. Her vocals gave the track a deeper a more spiritual meaning, though I don't recall ever hearing the track at a club. Direct Hit eventually remixed the track which is the version that I used for my re-edit. I added my standard 96 beat intro and outro making the track DJ friendly and some cut and paste work to rearrange the structure; looping provided more emphasis on a few key verses along with added length. The end result, clocking in at 125 beats per minute and a little over 8:30 plus minutes in length is a VERY danceable HOUSE  track that is PERFECT for SUMMER TEA . . . ! This track is a slightly different version than the one appears on eterniTEA presents: FREEDOM TEA III - ". . . the rocket's red glare . . ." - A House Blend - DELUXE EDITION - Pt. II - DJ WOLF e.

Some People [Twelve Inch Extended Version - DJ Mark Vallese & DJ WOLF e.'s "SUNDAY MORNING at THE SAINT" Extended Re-Edit] - Cliff Richard is now available on my SoundCloud page at http://soundcloud.com/dj-wolf-e I first heard this track at The Loading Dock (Chicago) during my first "BLACK & GOLD" party; the year was 1986 and the late DJ Frank Lipomi closed with it. That magic moment was my introduction to MORNING MUSIC, though it took relocating to San Francisco years later and meeting a few special people who experienced TROCADERO TRANSFER for me to become fully educated in its genre and purpose. Fast forward to 2003 which found me back in Chicago and meeting The Legendary DJ Mark Vallese all because of two words, MORNING MUSIC that I just happened to have in a profile. Mark and I have been inseparable ever since and the mentoring he has provided, well . . . I learned from the very best. Mark Vallese used five copies of the Twelve Inch Extended Version to create the Re-Edit that Mark played live using two twelve inch vinyl copies. Basically, the tracks are overlayed, allowing for the vocals to be brought in and out before transiting into the full track. I added my standard DJ friendly 96 beats into and outro, looping the first eight beats. Since the track has a cold ending, the added outro allows for mixing if one chooses. The end result . . . an 11 plus minute masterpiece of a MORNING MUSIC classic . . . !

This session of WHITE TEA is all about when it was DISCO, those anthems of the mid to late '70s and early '80s when events were more than just parties and WE lived for the music. The music brought US together, united US, allowed US to be who WE are and celebrate OUR uniqueness to fullest. It was a time when WE felt the party wouldn't ever end, though looming on the horizon was something that even the music couldn't repair. The "LEGENDARY" DJ Mark Vallese (having played twice at the Pavillion, along with numerous private house parties on Fire Island, I knew he was the perfect choice) will be mixing this DELUXE "ANNIVERSARY" EDITION, appearing in two distinct parts, The Up Trip (Part I) & The Down Trip (Part II), providing YOU with the full WHITE TEA experience, while I will be providing some creative editing. My vision for WHITE TEA - A Classic Blend - DJ WOLF e. was a full-scale event held on the last Sunday in August, celebrating the unofficial end of Summer & the "party season" here in The States, on one of the many beaches that dot the Chicago shoreline of Lake Michigan. Hundreds would gather dressed in their finest Summer whites & the music (of course) would be A Classic Blend of those "special" tracks, Fire Island classics which WHITE TEA is based on, that WE all love and cherish, those that bring back the memories of long ago, a simpler time when events were more than just parties & WE shared a togetherness and love that (unfortunately) seems to have gotten lost along the way . . .

3 Is Family [Direct Hit Remix - DJ WOLF e.'s #STONEWALL50 Extended Re-Edit] - Dana Dawson is now available on my SoundCloud page at http://soundcloud.com/dj-wolf-e; I was introduced to this track in 2003 by DJ Mark Vallese, whom at the time I'd just met and began sharing music. More so, this was the beginning of him educating me as to what he played during his rather illustrious thirty-five year career. Originally released in 1995, it was the Direct Hit Remix that I found to be exceptional, and therefore what I used for my re-edit. I began with adding a 96 beat intro and outro, making the track DJ friendly, rearranged the structure of the track using a cut and paste process in addition to looping, and overlayed vocal samples featured in the tracks' chorus. The final result, an uplifting HOUSE track perfect for Sunday Tea. I strongly recommend listening to the Autumn Sessions 2019 (106 - 107 - 108) in order, allowing YOU to experience the complete journey and full emotional impact. I have never been one to play a four-hour set starting at 140 bpm and ending at the same tempo. I understand that many fans of TRANCE enjoy those epic sets, and they do have their rightful place, though I feel a true artist (in my opinion) is one who can combine many genres of music at varied bpm's thus taking control of his or her audience' emotions and creating a very special experience. In essence, it’s not the crowd that alters what DJ WOLF e. plays; it’s what DJ WOLF e. plays that alters the crowd. It isn't by any means "easy" to create twelve-hour sets, in fact, it is practically unheard of these days, there I have the utmost gratitude and kudos to the artists / DJ's who are capable of such journeys, for they are The Wizards who possess the true magic.

My set was a down trip journey featuring epic TRANCE, Balearic TRANCE, progressive TRANCE, progressive HOUSE and classic MORNING MUSIC, (including many of my signature tracks). Full of twists and turns that pull and tug at every possible emotion, I created a journey that undeniably delivered an intense amount of feeling which was my overall indentation. From the feedback that I received, I most definitely succeeded in doing just that.

DJ WOLF e. has an incredible array of musical styles under his belt and a love for many, though "A COMPLETE BALEARIC JOURNEY" is where his passion lies and it shows in the eloquence and production of each session. DJ WOLF e. takes you on a complete musical journey, much like climbing a mountain, beginning at the bottom, slowly ascending, reaching the peak and experiencing the total euphoria that naturally follows, then making a slow descent back to the base, to the bottom where the journey began and the party continues. An incredible asset to the EDM community and a dedicated producer of an extraordinary podcast featuring the beauty of Balearic HOUSE and Balearic TRANCE mixed and arranged by DJ WOLF e. He views himself as an artist or performer with his dancers’ being an audience. He believes in taking that "audience" on a journey, using sound and other forms of multimedia to elicit the highest and most intense of emotional responses. Possessing an innate ability to "feel" the music and sense the energy of his audience, DJ WOLF e. is quite literally able to alter the consciousness of his dancers. He feels this requires an extraordinary amount of effort, concentration and time; therefore it is not an easy feat to accomplish. Though when accomplished, DJ WOLF e. has created vivid tapestries of sound, emotion, and pure magic. DJ WOLF e. currently has a fan base that reaches nearly 80 countries; quite a large accomplishment for someone who's only been playing TRANCE since 2011. He has received numerous accolades from his fans, though one in particular stands out: "I didn't know TRANCE legends came from Holland, MI." Yes, they certainly do . . .

DJ WOLF e. knew instantly in 1986 when at the age of seventeen he had his first nightclub experience, and that he wanted a career as an artist. He began his career in San Francisco during the early 90's spinning alternative music at Cocktails - The Pit (a legendary South of Market nightclub) on Monday nights for "Krash Klub." After a ten year absence from performing, he was employed at The Dunes Resort in Douglas, MI. (2005 - 2007) as their lighting designer and technician. He has once again devoted his life to a dream and wish that began nearly thirty years ago. 
MUSIC is my life and my love; above all else, MUSIC is everything to me. MUSIC has in more ways than I can explain helped me to become exactly what and who I am. MUSIC has (more times than I can count) literally saved my life. MUSIC is and will always be there for me, often when no one or nothing else is or has been. MUSIC tells my story in much better ways than I ever could. - DJ WOLF e.
