Welcome to Fragrant Edits Vol. 1, Part II, the follow up to the debut release from fresh new Russian label Duchesse. Ten tracks of disco goodness for your listening and dancing pleasure!

Headlining the release is Andy Bach with "Free Your Body", a feisty, funky number with a thumping beat and sumptuous disco vocals. Up next is Mark Whites with "Reach For The Sky", an 80s tinged belter laden with gorgeous synth riffs and a hands in the air vibe. In at number three is "Groove To Get" by Max Newton, a brooding disco burner with an insatiable groove that just screams get up and dance! Hot on its heels and highly reminiscent of 90s filter house is "You Know How It Is" by Salemo. With a bassline that won’t quit and a horn section from heaven, "You Know How It Is" will fill any dance floor! At the halfway point is Rafael Yapudjian with "First Light Of The Morning", an absolutely stunning instrumental number perfect for any afterhours party. In at number six is "Sugar" by X Gets The Crest, a sweet and quirky yet super funky tune with heavenly vocals and an unforgettable synth refrain. Up next is "Milano Stazione" by Peppe Dibari, a pounding disco stomper that will have the whole crowd moving! At number 8 is Disco Endeavours with "Stay On My Mind", a moogy, bassline orientated track with luscious electric piano and vocals throughout. The penultimate track, "Gonna Getcha High" by Even Funkier takes things up a notch with a super groovy, synth excursion: a killer finishing track for any discerning disco DJ. Rounding things off is Berobreo with "Midnight Video", a pulsing, unquenchable disco groover: the perfect end to some very Fragrant Edits!

All the Funk I need ( Lost in the Space Disco Dub Version )

The eclectic nu-disco vibes of Double F.O.G. aka Chris Armstrong have been pricking up many an ear the past few years with some superb appearances on Hot Digits and Bandolier records to name but a few. This debut 3 track Ep on Hot Digits Music (an ode to his love for his missus I might add) showcases this rising talent with the Lyn Collins sampling opener “Lose My Mind” which is all mid tempo analogue funk of the highest order. “Baby Don’t Change” ramps up the wobble for another speaker busting slice of slo-mo house before we take things real deep with closing track “Wanna Be Your lover” featuring some cracking vocoder vibes reminiscent of some of Daft Punk’s ballad work. Disco Daze Stephen Richards returns to the label for his cracking remix of “Baby Don’t Change” where the Waterford producer cranks up energy with some slo-mo hip-house textures. A highly original 3 tracker for the more discerning dance floor and terrace.

VIENE E VA lato C il terzo attesissimo lato del progetto uscito nel 2008, che aveva già visto la straordinaria partecipazione di tantissimi musicisti, DJs e rappers. 

Agli inizi dei 2000 DJ Gruff, con lo pseudonimo di Lowdy, lanciò una chiamata destinata ai rappers di tutta Italia, in una finestra di IRC. In poco tempo Lowdy è divenuto un punto di incontro di creazione di musica a distanza e di collaborazione tra artisti che non si conoscevano tra loro, senza i mezzi e gli strumenti di oggi, che ha dato voce a tanti, affermati ed emergenti. Questo esperimento socio cybernetico culturale ha unito il rap italiano per ben due volte nel 2008. Da anni DJ Gruff aveva in testa di replicare l’esperimento ed è stato il lockdown a spingerlo definitivamente a rilanciare la chiamata, servendosi dei ben più comodi mezzi attuali. Le risposte sono state talmente tante che sono emersi due brani: lato C e lato D (ancora in lavorazione).

VIENE E VA lato C è anche la terza tappa del progetto I MIGLIORI PENSIERI e registra la partecipazione di più di 40 artisti che uniscono l’Italia con versi e musiche composti durante la quarantena.

Una rete artistica unica che offre una panoramica sulle moltissime regioni i cui pensieri, dialetti e slang si intrecciano nonostante la distanza culturale e geografica: Piemonte, Puglia, Lombardia, Campania, Calabria, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Sicilia, Emilia Romagna, Lazio.
