Danger Cricket

Tried to start off FAWM with a more liquid/dancefloor #drum_n_bass #dnb vibe.

Sat down after work and Karate on the 1st and knocked out the main ideas for this one, touched them up a bit before work on the 2nd and decided it was at a 'good enough' state that evening.

Elevation

Track 2 for February Album Writing Month is off to a solid start. I will likely come back and revisit this one later in the month or some point shortly after February.

Circuit Breaker

Track 3 for February Album Writing Month. Wanted to try and keep it somewhat simple from an instrumentation standpoint, so just focused in on using some of Ableton's Pianos and Stringed instruments.

This one's got a nice liquid-y vibe to it, and I really dig what I was able to come up with in a few short hours.

Crimson Shadow

Another track for February Album Writing Month. Started this one off with the idea of "hopefulness" and sort of ran with it from there. Ended up with a bit of a liquid vibe overall.

Neon Dawn

Completing track 7 a bit behind schedule for FAWM, I went with a more toned down alternative to the Neurofunk I had been trying to make.

I don't think I'll be revisiting this one, but hopefully it gives you a nice listen for now.

Shadow Odyssey

For track 8 of my FAWM journey, I threw together this with the prompt "Rip off Pachelbel" and the requirement to use the note progression from Cannon in D. Put about an hour into this, and calling it 'good' for now so that I can get closer and closer to that goal of 14 tracks in 28 days.

"Rip off Pachelbel"

Was streaming while making the last FAWM track, and someone suggested that I do a remix/bootleg based on the Jurassic Park theme song. This is what I was able to come up with in a few hours worth of time. A fun little experience for sure.

Jurassic Farks

Had a bit of a creativity draining weekend and was feeling a bit burnt out on making tracks for FAWM. Managed to sit down throughout the day and listen to some of the older Soundtracks for games I used to play a lot of, and got the idea to do something a bit influenced by the town of Morocco in Ragnarok Online.

This is just a bit of a quick/rough track to try and power through that creative rut, but it's got some potential for revisiting after FAWM.

East of Ragnarok

The next installment in this year's FAWM. I went in with the idea of making something Jump Up-ish, but couldn't bring myself to go full on into the lasers and foghorns. Anyway, hope you enjoy as we move on to the next track!

Vortex Surge

Track 12 on the quest to complete 14 songs in the month of February. This one is a bit of a chill vibe and an initial attempt at the Splice February server challenge as well.

Sunrise Dance

It's almost over. 13 of 14 tracks done for February Album Writing Month. I think I want to come back to this one later and touch it up but for now I've got to keep trucking to get that last track done.

Angry Gramma

Final track for February Album Writing Month. I knew I wanted to do one during this event that had a polyrhythm like Virtual Riot did towards the end of January. No idea if it works well or not, but it was a fun experiment to undertake.

Did this as part of the Splice Discord server's April challenge. The main requirements were to keep the track between 1-3 minutes, and to use Arturia Analog Play for some/most of your instrumentation.

Mix Lab #7 - Jungle Time

Hi, I'm Acidion. I'm a mid 30s dad who happens to also be a long time music appreciator. I can, and do, find music to enjoy across every genre, and love sharing it with others.

To help share that love of music in a manner outside just making some playlists for parties, I began DJing in 2022.

I'm currently focused mostly on mixing all sorts of Drum and Bass, but I also have some really Dumb/Brilliant ideas from time to time, so there might be some crazy genre benders.
