When asked by my good friends at Iboga if i wanted to make a compilation aiming at the slower, more downbeat side of the music spectrum, of course I immediately said yes.
So much great downbeat music has emerged over the past 2-3 years, and the scene has been growing rapidly, with many sub-genres seeing the light of day.
My thoughts about the selection of tracks was that they should be deep, moody, trippy, well produced ,and layered with tribalistic rhythm patterns. And a sexy bassline wouldn't hurt either!
So I started to get in contact with friends and some of my favourite producers in the genre, and slowly but surely, a story was starting to unfold...a sonic horizon, filled with music dear to my heart. Enjoy!

Solitude to Sanctuary is a two-part EP reflecting the journey Michailo has been on over the last six years. 

Part 1: Solitude features three tracks. 

1. 'Gagma Napiri' uses hauntingly beautiful vocals to create deep atmospheric and experimental techno.

2. 'Visitor in a Dream' creates a strong deep techno beat and use effects to create affect for the connoisseur DJ playing ambient sets.

3. 'Meambokhe Meambore' deep dark synths and a fantastic break beat create something with hints of Depeche Mode in it.

Este EP es un reencuentro conmigo mismo, con música que vengo arrastrando desde niño por influencia de mis padres y de mi entorno en general.

Es muy ambiguo tratar de entender o expresar un tema concreto cuando la voz no está cantando o narrando a detalle así que se puede y se vale interpretar las canciones de este ep a como el corazón de cada quien lo sienta; sin embargo muy en el fondo todo el ep hace alusión a Apetlanca, un poblado en una sierra en el estado de Guererro en México.

Der Trick mit dem Stöckchen klappt! Als alle durchgeschlüpft sind, fällt die Tür lautos hinter uns ins Schloss. Ein dichter Dunst umgibt uns nun - soweit so gut. «Was wollten wir hier eigentlich nochmal und wo genau sind wir überhaupt?», fragst du dich. 
«Im Jenseits seid ihr. Quasi. Beziehungsweise... naja ist ja auch egal.», informiert uns Niju der Dunstgraf höchstpersönlich. 
«Lieber Dunstgraf, wir befinden uns auf einer Expedition, nein auf einer waschechten 
Mission, und benötigen Eure Hilfe.»
«Was ist denn das Ziel eurer Mission?», fragt Niju uns mit sanfter Stimme.
«Unsere Jurte hat sich in Luft aufgelöst und nun irren wir durch dieses seltsame Land. Eigentlich möchten wir vor allem gerne wieder nach Hause», spricht eine Nomadin.
Was soll der Dunstgraf antworten?

☐ 	Tja, dumm gelaufen, näch?
☐ 	So so. Na dann zieht erstmal kräftig an dieser Pfeife.
