Our ancestors understood the relation between the sun and health. From the Aztecs to the ancient Egyptians, many past societies revered sungazing as an esoteric practice for high-ranking priests and shamans. Today, it is experiencing a resurgence in popularity and sungazers claim it has its benefits.

Sungazing is an interesting practice that touches the spiritual and psychological realms, this is where I craft my sound journeys to move into your soul.

The Blue Nile Falls is a waterfall on the Blue Nile river in Ethiopia. It is known as Tis Abay in Amharic, meaning "Smoke Abay". It is situated on the upper course of the river, about 30 kilometres (19 mi) downstream from the town of Bahir Dar and Lake Tana. The falls are one of Ethiopia's best-known tourist attractions. The falls are 42 metres consisting of four streams that originally varied from a trickle in the dry season to over 400 meters wide in the rainy season. A short distance downstream from the falls sits the first stone bridge constructed in Ethiopia, built at the command of Emperor Susenyos in 1626. According to Manuel de Almeida, stone for making lime had been found nearby along the tributary Alata, and a craftsman who had come from India with Afonso Mendes, the Catholic Patriarch of Ethiopia, supervised the construction. This is the new Shango Records compilation entitled “The Blue Waterfalls Of The River Nile”. Seventeen beautiful tracks to fall in love with. CHAMBORD is a talented duo : DJ & producers. Their musical universe is eclectic: melodious sounds influenced by world music but also more electronic and hypnotic atmospheres.
This music lovers based are Paris and for this release we are very happy to welcome them on Akbal Music.
Their new colorful EP that comes along with two great remixes by Derun and Wild Dark facing to be a memorable record for the summer.
Electronic Tango is beautiful number filled with female earthy chanting vocals, warm keys, exotic synth-lines and playful grooves. Shaping to be a thoughtful contemplated summer anthem.
Derun delivers his second remix on Akbal Music, showing their sound is on fire this days, the remix is a solid fusion between indie dance with a sexy attitude always showing mysticism on their tracks.
Will Dark remix is an example of rolling tribal grooves with nice one shot sounds and keeping the magic vibe of the original vocal. Already road tested in various sounds systems.

Chambord - Electronic Tango (Wild Dark Remix) [Akbal Music]

Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint ushers in the summer season by showcasing new interpretations of Bigasti & Balad’s ‘The Days’. Originally released in August of 2019, it’s elegant motifs, wispy atmospheres and fluttery melodic concepts were well received by their fans and contemporaries. Still holding a place in the duo’s top five best selling tracks on Beatport, Sound Avenue now invites Nopi, B.A.X. and Jean Caillou to re-imagine the track. 

Returning to the label and providing the first interpretation of ‘The Days’ is Nopi. The Ukrainian artist first appeared on the Belgian imprint in February of this year with a remix of ‘Pearl’ by Paula OS. As the lead piece on the label’s ‘Re:Imagined #001’ release, it showcased Nopi’s individualities through a wealth of blissful concepts and organic design. Also laying claim to releases on Akbal Music, Kindisch and Seven Villas, Nopi now returns to Sound Avenue with a powerful rendition of ‘The Days’. Taking a cue from the original Nopi crafts a full groove and smooth rhythmic core. Nostalgic in nature, the piece flows through a storyboard of charged rhythms, luminous tones and fragmented vocals, before shifting energy into a transcendent break. Delicate yet buzzing, the centrepiece expertly melts down into a dramatic build as acid-like synths and a wave of noise spark a rousing finale.

Also making a welcome return to the label is B.A.X. who provides the second interpretation of ‘The Days’. The Vietnamese artist first appeared on Belgian imprint in January of this year with a remix of Madloch and Subnode’s ‘Lion’s Mane’, before delivering his ‘Serenade to Earth’ EP in April. Classically trained and borderless in his approach to production, the Ho Chi Minh City resident has also found a home on fryhide, Manual Music and Sound Avenue affiliate 3rd Avenue. Always a creative remixer, B.A.X. now returns to Sound Avenue, taking ‘The Days’ into his world of transcendent beats and impassioned melodies. Warm rhythms, clattering percussion and redolent bass set the course for this charming journey. Emerging chord stabs and rising atmosphere soon engulf the groove, saturating your senses in the process, before a heavenly break furthers its emotive lean onwards to a spine-tingling finale. 

Completing the release and providing the third and final interpretation of ‘The Days’ is Jean Caillou who returns for his second appearance. Hailing from Zurich, the Swiss artist first appeared on the Belgian imprint in November of last year with a gorgeous remix of Joe Miller’s ‘The Last of the Great Days’. Renowned for his deep, romantic storyboards, Jean has also showcased his music on Magician On Duty, Sag & Tre and Underyourskin Records. Often splitting time between deep house and electronica, the Swiss artist opts for the latter here with a reflective take on ‘The Days’. Fresh and emotive in equal measure, it’s a collage of exotic percussion, sprawling vocal gates and dusty electronics which captivate across the nine-minute journey. Soulful plucks and luminous tones expand the musical narrative, gently washing over the framework and ultimately closing the release out on a heartfelt note. A gorgeous remix from Jean, capping off a deep and dreamy remix edition for Bigasti & Balad’s ‘The Days’.
