Vanity Productions is the solo moniker of Christian Stadsgaard, a crucial figure in the contemporary Nordic electronic and experimental music scenes. Standing at the helm of the label Posh Isolation with Loke Rahbek, Stadsgaard is responsible for one of the most consistent and compelling labels to both define and elaborate the many productive sides of the underground in the last decade.

As a performing and recording artist his work with Rahbek as Damien Dubrovnik was a critical project in the contemporary noise milieu. More recently his collaborative work with Jonas Rönnberg as The Empire Line has gained significant notoriety. However, it's as Vanity Productions that the full breadth of the emotive intensity of Stadsgaard's work is felt.

Theory Therapy 29 is a heady bricolage of amorphous textures and unusually beautiful sounds by Naarm-based producer Jim Sellars aka Yunzero.

Fans of the Lillerne and .jpeg Artefacts affiliate will find a lot to love here. Sellars has somehow assembled 55 mesmerising tracks into a brief 45-minute mix. It feels very similar in vision to his recent collaboration Wall of Junk with friend and fellow producer Body Clock. Like that album, Sellars turns otherworldly samples and unconventional rhythms into captivating, mysterious soundscapes.

I get that a lot of great electronic music is intended to be transportive, but Sellars' music feels like its own self-contained world. I’m not really sure how they manage to make such disparate sources coalesce so well (for one, not many producers could pull off sampling Vin Diesel as they did on Blurry Ant) but that inexplicable quality is what keeps me returning to their brand of electronic music. I’m confident it’ll be a similar story with this mix.

Excited to start and expand The Locus, my research project (thelocus.online) as a bimestrial show on @lyl_radio. The Locus will explore works on field recordings, terrain vague, language, and abstructures.

For this first show, I invited my dear friend Constanza Castagnet, together we prepared an hour of assemblages, ambient and unreleased music.

Constanza Castagnet is an Argentinian vocalist and artist investigating the influence of sound on language. Through immersive sound installations, audiovisual pieces, text, and performances she explores how the voice can be an instrument of resistance over its function to transmit and communicate meaning. In parallel she co-founded aux)), a program addressing sound and listening as ways of knowing.

This month, Demord Enregistrements spotlights a beautiful and precious friendship story : Delphine from Brussels (Rose Mary) and Delphine from Paris (Delphine Demord) nicknamed "The Dedelle's". 

A few years ago, they met at Kiosk Radio during their first show together, and they're directly deeply connected. This mix is a 2 hours throwback to the 90s, with downtempo, low breaks, trip-hop, dubby & weirdo stuffs. Enjoy !
