New on Zatar is a three tracker from NIIXII, the DJ and producer based in Barcelona. Her Magia cut is deep, melodic tech house track with a bewitching melodic flourish referencing middle eastern roots. It's hypnotic and affecting and the perfect calling card for NIIXII’s distinct take on house.  

Magia is also remixed by Wally Lopez here, who addis his own sprinkling of magic to the track. As Wally describes:  "I'm a huge fan of Zatar and when they sent me some original songs I knew that we had something special on Magia and wanted to put my touches on it“.  

The EP is rounded off nicely with One Last Dance, a beautiful deep cut with oceans of ambience that will be as equally at home at sunset as sunrise.

In their forthcoming collaboration, Anis Hachemi and Pouvoir Magique sojourn beyond sound, exploring the profound landscapes of emotion and human connection. Adorned by De Noko's ethereal vocals, "Mosoto'' navigates realms of affection and the soothing cadence of a heart that, while distant, feels intuitively like home. Intertwining lush percussion and tribal instruments with delicate melodies, the track weaves a narrative that oscillates between the thrill of pursuit and the captivating allure of serendipity. Subtle electronic tinctures infuse a crisp groove into Afro rhythms, creating soundscapes that are timeless and vibrant. De Noko's poignant lyrics, both tender and satiating, evoke a love that is both deep and unvoiced, anchored in the complexity and elegance of a Mosotho muse. Within "Mosoto," each note and harmony holds the promise of uncovering something more, in a place where the essence of love pulsates in harmony with the earth's very own rhythm.

History

Dan Clarke became obsessed with rave mixtapes in the early '90', quickly progressing to getting a set of turntables and starting a huge vinyl collection. 

Throughout university in Manchester he DJ'ed at various venues including Dry Bar, The Attic and Joshua Brooks. 

Fast forward to the last few years and he has been a resident DJ for the Minstrels Project playing at a number of local venues including Ego Dance Emporium and LOOP Bar in Blackburn as well as Sunbird Records in Darwen. A guest mix for the Lucius Lowe show on Chorley FM also brought him to a wider audience. 

Constantly pushing underground music, his sound now reaches across a wide spectrum, from deep afro beats through to melodic breaks and everything in-between. His 20+ years DJing experience makes him an agile selector who is always evolving.
