DJ, producer and sound engineer hailing from Ljubljana, Slovenia, and co-founder of independent label and event series DE/FRAGMENT. A skilled selector and proficient mixer with a wide musical pallete, he generally operates at the crossroads of techno, electro and bass music. Over the past few years he has been building a reputation as a wild card in many of Slovenia's best clubs and lineups, always keeping his audience on their toes and delivering fresh and unexpected twists and turns within his sets. He released his latest EP titled The Relentless Struggle of Gravity in November 2022 on the legendary London-based label Singularity Recordings.

This EP mark the second release on Modular Archive, sub label of Modular Side Music. I put together, some of my most spaced out and mellower productions, characterised by smooth tones, “empty” grooves, and deep extra terrestrial atmospheres (hence the title). It’s a Sun but it does not shine.

Yax is a techno DJ from Adelaide, Australia drawing influence from the likes of artists such as DVS1, Jeff Mills, and Setaoc Mass. His style is continuously evolving throughout the years, but he maintains a focus on deep, groovy, hypnotic, and minimal techno, as he takes inspiration from the 90s and early 00s era, while still adding a modern twist to his sets. 

Whilst maintaining a presence in the underground techno scene in Adelaide, Yax also curates a weekly podcast series called Yax Invites, which began in 2021 with the aim of showcasing talent from around the world with an emphasis on extended techno mixes. Presented and served on two bloody gorgeous 1200s, I wanted to take a step back from the 4+ turntable mix craze and showcase some proper loopy gritty hypnotic slammers. 

Very much inspired by seeing great sets by Laure Croft and Freddy K at Stone last year, and stacked with tracks from maestros DJ Shufflemaster, Kaiser, Mhonolink, Cravo and more.
