Out of Fashion Boys Compilation Vol.2: Punch Drunk

Punch Drunk refers to the dizziness when fighters get rocked, pretty much resembles to the numbness after five six Vodka shots. We borrowed this concept to name our compilation, hoping it delivers the same experience aurally and emotionally even without Vodka. So that you may keep your feet on the ground when the real punch comes. As Buddhism says, "All sufferings are caused by omissions.” All those omissions (joys and sorrows to put it simple) are punches to our life, where all our false satisfaction and desperation are punch drunk. Wish we can stay sober, or just straight out get a "punch drunk".

Punch Drunk指的是在格斗比赛或现实中被重拳击中产生的眩晕感，就像是一口干掉一杯伏特加后对整个世界都失去了知觉。我们借用这个概念来命名这张合辑，是希望让每个人即使不喝伏特加，也能够在听感和情绪上体会punch drunk。等到哪一天真的迎来一记“punch”时，希望你能站稳。就像佛教所讲的有漏皆苦, 所有的“漏”（简单理解为过喜或悲的情绪）都是一记punch，我们对生活的所有虚假的满足与绝望也是punch drunk，希望我们能保持清醒，否则就干脆享受punch drunk吧。

Gao Qiao (High Bridge) is an electronic music producer/DJ born and raised in Shanghai. He first played the role of beatmaker next to the rap group Vroskiii. Later, influenced by the genome 6.66 Mbp, he began to change his style to a beat more suitable for the club dance floor and began his own DJ career. After he released vrotape vol.1 with the Shanghai freshman rap team vrogang, his figure has become more frequent in various underground clubs.

Jared talks with Jack on queer notions of forgetting, futurity, and the figure of the zombie in today’s popular imagination, as explored in his books such as 2011’s ‘The Queer Art of Failure’, and most recently ‘Wild Things: The Disorder of Desire’, published last year by Duke University Press.

Mata Genji

With mimikry, his new release on the Intl’ Winners Collective label, treibgut aka Fabian Lanzmaier is refining his work on amorphous sounds. A maze into surreal surroundings of organic structures in constant movement and disruption. Sounds bend until they breach, metallic timbres alter between percussive and tonal, forming musical gestures that fuse together, shaping narrative-like compositions. 

Against any style Lanzmaier uses electroacoustic tactics and physical modeling to blur the listeners perception of closeness and distance, tension and looseness.
