This summer Moderna Y Theus Mago return with their fourth collaboration release ‘Give Chance A Trance’, the four-track EP will be released on Duro Label. The duo have an established history of their own sound that touches on various genres and this ep is no different, featuring cuts of techno, acid, and dark disco that bring you electrifying sounds, elusive rhythms, and dystopian vibes.

Starting off strong with ‘La Tranca’ an energetic and galloping track with articulate vocals and psychedelic synthesizers that create an atmosphere of trap and invites you to choose your destiny for the night. Next up is ‘Preset Body’ a chaotic track with an acidic bassline and a booming drum that immerses you in a whirlwind of rotating and twisted synthesizers, with vocals that feel like strobes in the night.

The third track, ‘Give Chance A Trance’ is a rave cut that gives the EP its name. With an incisive drum and reverberating synthesizers, this track has a very clear message: “Tomorrow is the question, Music is the answer”. The path to liberation and freedom.

Finally, the EP closes with ‘The Motion Of Emotions’ a playful and sexy track that lures you in on a journey into the night keeping you glued to the dance floor with “pulsing lights and flashing beats”, it's the perfect time for our worries to fade, “to be free, let go and thrive”.

Clubsonica opens the month of May with a new collaborative project from Maze 28 and Rockka. Hailing from Albania, Mario Zefi aka Maze 28 has emerged as one of his country's most hotly tipped progressive house artists. In just three short years the Durres resident has earned support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while his melodic creations have found a home on Juicebox Music, RKP and Mango Alley, the latter of which operates as his primary home. Meanwhile, hailing from Sri Lanka, Rockka aka Lakith Adikaram has been releasing his own unique style of progressive music for the better part of three years. Although younger than most of his contemporaries, the Nugegoda resident impressed going forward, quickly landing projects with Balkan Connection, Droid9, Mango Alley and Yomo Records. Having previously collaborated on EP's for iNU and Mango Alley, Maze 28 and Rockka now add Clubsonica to their joint discography with ‘Mirage | Solid', alongside remixes from Juan Ibanez and Mauro Aguirre. 

Maze 28 and Rockka continue to showcase their growing creative synergy on selection one ‘Mirage'. Full of rejuvenating dancefloor energy, the cross-continental duo expertly blends robust kick drums and electric grooves with flashing percussion and crunchy effects. Deconstructed vocals and spiralling arps steal the air leading into the break, casting a darker monochrome over the journey, before an effects-laden build cues a rush of pyrotechnic synths and melodic alchemy. The companion piece ‘Solid' continues the duo's main room assault but with greater atmospheric depth, all while maintaining the darker tone set by its predecessor. Complete with ultrasonic qualities, it's an energy rush for ages, one where Maze 28 and Rockka's creative attitude shines, as roller coasters of undulating basslines, metallic melodies and astral effects unite for an exhilarating peak-time journey. 

The interpretation of ‘Mirage' is provided by Juan Ibanez. Support from world class DJ Hernan Cattaneo, along with releases for Freegrant Music, onedotsixtwo, Or Two Strangers and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden have etched Juan's place amongst progressive music's top talents. Now, following an appearance The Soundgarden's Winter Collection, Juan returns to Clubsonica with an inspired rendition of ‘Mirage'. Bringing a progressive state of mind, Juan carefully balances the themes from the original with his own melodic groove-centric sound. Timely effects and commanding drums steal the air atop thunderous beats, rippling grooves and evolving atmospheres; while a trance-inspired break seals what is the ultimate dance floor bomb to complement an already huge original. 

The release concludes with Mauro Aguirre for the interpretation of ‘Solid'. Clubsonica has been Mauro's primary home in recent years. With a recent debut on Balance Music getting 2024 underway in fine fashion, Mauro now returns to Clubsonica for his first solo remix of the year, taking ‘Solid' into his own world of melodic progressive house. Opting for a dubbier and more groove-centric approach, Mauro aims squarely at a peak-hour dancefloor here, with rolling rhythms and panning melodies creating a smooth yet energy inducing first act. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, poignant chord changes emerge across the main break, slowly rising against a backdrop of rich textural colour, before segueing into a hair-raising finale; one that's complete with muscular grooves and a fragmented take on the melody. A remix which is not only ideal for the astute connoisseur, but closes the release out as one of Mauro's most accomplished productions to date.

Dutchman Collé is a new school artist making huge waves on labels such as Anjunadeep, Stil vor Talent, trueColors and Balance to name a few. He has a richly detailed sound as he demonstrated one more time here.

“Something To Believe” is a serene and warming world of progressive sound with smooth rolling drums and spaced out vocals. The synths are polished and shiny as they ride up and down the scales and take you to euphoria. ‘Thoughts’ is another perfectly elongated groove, this time with rubbery bass and loopy hits and freaky vocals marbling the arrangement.

These are two evocative gems from Collé. ✨

Clubsonica Records opens the summer season by unveiling the sixth edition of their popular Sampler Series. Following its debut in 2021, Clubsonica's Various Artists Sampler Series is now a regular and much anticipated offering in the label's catalog, an extensive of sorts to the imprint’s MMW and ADE showcases which operate under a similar ethos. The trending series has been a platform not only for a wide assortment of upcoming talent, but continues to add some of progressive music's most notable names with each successive edition. Genre veterans Golan Zocher, Greenage, Kamilo Sanclemente, Ric Niels, Ruben Karapetyan, amongst others, have all graced Clubsonica's much sought after Sampler Series, sitting alongside a carefully curated blend of talented up and comers. Now embarking on their sixth edition, Clubsonica boss Juan Pablo Torrez has compiled the series' most diverse volume to date, featuring new music from (in order of appearance): Armandhe, Derk, Nico Serjanovich, FJL, Golan Zocher, Liam Sieker, Nicolas Viana, Rocio Portillo, Karim Sar Sar and Valley (AR). 

Getting the release underway is Armandhe. Releases courtesy of Balkan Connection, Droid9, Movement Recordings and Sprout, amongst others, have been instrumental in establishing the Medellín resident. With 2023 being highlighted by a contribution to Movement’s ‘Exploring Colombia’ collection, Armandhe now returns to Clubsonica with the deep, charming sounds of ‘Encontro’, a track which serves as his first production of 2024. 

The collection’s first collaboration finds Derk, FJL and Nico Serjanovich combining their extensive forces on ‘Trix’. Although relatively early into their production journey, the trio’s joint discography is already enviable, highlighted by releases via Droid9, Higher States, Mango Alley, Sound Avenue and Transensations, while genre trendsetters Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been steadfast with support. Now, in what is a first time collaboration, Derk, FJL and Nico all make their Clubsonica debut with the hypnotic vibes of ‘Trix’. 

Selection three finds Clubsonica stalwart Golan Zocher and label debutant Liam Sieker also collaborating on ‘Incandescent’. Following a 2016 debut, the Tel Aviv resident quickly found his place amongst the genre's elite, earning play and support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Guy Mantzur. Meanwhile, Australian artist Liam Sieker has been a fixture of his country's nightlife for the better part of a decade. Liam has found a home on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and Lee Burridge's All Day I Dream. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Golan and Liam present their debut collaboration ‘Incandescent’, a track which sits as one of the most mesmerizing and deeply emotional creations of their respective careers. 

Selection four finds Nicolas Viana returning to the label for his first original offering ‘Fever’. On the strength of a contribution to One Of A Kind's 'Melody Masters Exclusive' collection, Nicolas would go on to record projects for Amulanga, Flug Lab, Melody Of The Soul, Nordic Voyage, Or Two Strangers and Peace Symphonies, while electronic music tastemakers Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo and Sabo, amongst others have all championed his work. With Nicolas’ Clubsonica debut coming earlier this month with a remix of ‘Unfaithful’ by Claudiu Adam, the Tucuman resident now returns to the label with the groovy progressive sounds of ‘Fever’. 

The release concludes with Rocio Portillo, Karim Sar Sar, Valley (AR) with ‘Rise’. Released in October, their 'Ananda' EP for Madloch's 3rd Avenue caught the attention of organic and progressive house DJs alike, in turn making them a trio to watch going forward. Now, adding Clubsonica to their resume, Rocio, Karim and Valley (AR) continue their creative partnership with the mystical sounds of ‘Rise’, a track which puts a resounding stamp on another diverse and well curated edition of Clubsonica’s beloved Sampler Series.

Astral Records opens the summer season with a new collaborative project from Far Distance and Atom (IE). With a career that spans the better part of a decade, Far Distance has more than etched his place in electronic music's trend driven underground. Their amalgamation of progressive and melodic house has found a home on Einmusika, Freegrant Music, Perspectives Digital, Somatic and more; while world class DJs Lane 8, Kevin de Vries and Solomun have been regular supporters. Meanwhile, Irish artist Atom (IE) shies away from the public eye, feeling that his identity should not be a role in his music, which explains his relative obscurity, instead wanting the music to be the project's sole focus. A short but meticulous discography is highlighted by releases via Be Free, Future Romance, Univack and Us and Them Records, where his astral sound has flourished. Now, combining their extensive forces for Astral Records, Far Distance and Atom (IE) unveil their collaborative debut ‘Harmonious'.

Beginning with the trance-inspired monochromes of ‘Harmonious', the duo craftsmanship reveals itself, as nostalgic melodies flicker atop titanic kick drums and machine-gun style grooves, eventually leading to a thought-provoking break. Highlighted by a spoken word vocal-sample, its breathy suspense eventually gives way to symphonic synth phrasing, tactfully elevating mood, before devilish mutations spark a euphoric finale.

The charged aesthetic continues on companion piece ‘Keeps Me Alive'. The duo expounds their lavish future vision here, with obsessive rhythms, sci-fi vocal samples and hyperspace melodies blanketing punishing beats and crunchy grooves. Clever vocal co-actions marry metallic motifs throughout, while a pyrotechnic break preludes a finale of boundless energy that is perfectly dialed for peak time play.
