In this episode of Timeless, DJ Jabbar—a pioneering DJ and turntablist from Bojnord, Khorasan—brings his signature blend of hip-hop and electronic music to life. Known for his mastery in scratching, beat juggling, and improvisation with synthesizers and MPC drum machines, DJ Jabbar takes us on a journey through his reimagining of Iran's golden era of music.

This mixtape, inspired by the cassette tapes of his childhood, was crafted during a reflective period of isolation from 2020 to 2022 and later refined after his migration to the capital.

'Timeless' is a mixtape series where we invite talented producers to craft projects centered around themes of “vintage sounds,” “Persian atmospheres,” and, above all, the art of sampling. Our goal is to spotlight the creative process behind each mixtape, showcasing how the past and present converge in a sonic journey. Hello everyone, and welcome to DKODA: The Soul'd Out Show (Vol. I - IV)!  This is without a doubt my most ambitious project to date - a 4 part audio experience, where the 4 Volumes of music are split into 4 Acts - like a music themed audio play, presented to a live audience on stage. I wanted to tell a story about unrequited love, heartbreak, loneliness, elation, hope, grief  & despair. Further themes of true love, passion & desire finally intertwine with peace, togetherness & freedom. The protagonist's story is told in audio form using the lyrics and emotions in the samples of the music selected and used. I hope you enjoy the 'event'!

Mez’Rab (Alireza Poorsohoolat) is a 28-year-old music producer, audio engineer, and software
and game developer who was born and raised in Tehran. He has collaborated with top
influential Persian hip-hop artists like Bahram, REZ, Ali Sorena, Dariush, Navid, and ... as
producer and audio engineer since 2008. Besides his hip-hop work, he also has the passion for
sound design and is interested in experimental electronic music. The EP album named "SEH" is
his only solo instrumental album released in 2015 with an interactive audiovisual artwork.
Mez’Rab is also co-founder of Jaryan magazine, which focuses on promoting electronic and
alternative hip-hop music in Iran.
