I am James Collingburn. I am a House and Techno DJ and I play wide and varied styles within these genres. Here is my latest mix for Feb 2011. I have recently got back into DJing and playing club music again after been totally excited and reinvigorated by it. So I'm back with a current and modern sound and a world of possibilities. A bit of background history; I won iDJ magazine's highly regarded DJ competition back in Oct 2003. Off the back of that I scored gigs at the main room in Turnmills, London, warming up for Seb Fonatine and opened up for Scott Bradford (Lexicon Avenue) at the opening night of Shindig at Digital in Newcastle. He was impressed enough to ask me back to warm up for Hybrid. At this time, I was at the level of warm up DJ for big established names or the guest DJ at smaller, intimate underground nights around the North, UK. The music I play is house and techno with lots of percussion, groove, energy and anything I have a strong feeling about. I'm not a purist and don't believe in purism in music or in life. I am now kick-starting my DJing career again and will be uploaded mixes and getting my head back into production, so watch this space for my first flurry of productions.
