Jimmy Swagger (James Bartram) was born in the golden age of hip-hop, and grew up to the sounds of The Beastie Boys, Run DMC and various other seminal hip-hop crews. Also much inspired by all the rock coming out of Australia and America, a young James spent time learning Guitar and Violin through high school, and it was here he got intorduced to electronic music. Through the early 2000's, Jimmy attended various Trance parties before being seduced into the world of breaks by the likes of Stanton Warriors, Plump DJ's, Kid Kenobi and the mighty NuBreed. He has never looked back!

Now playing funky beats at Workshop (in Melbourne, AUS) with the Dropping Phat! crew, Jimmy's love of breaks and broken beats (through Glitch-Hop to Drum'n'Bass and most things in between) keeps on growing. Through this he's also looked back at the funk and soul age, with a few jazz references coming through too. Bring that beat back!
