Another DJ I really admire, her sets at Trade were sublime. Some great tracks on here, the mixing wanders a little in places but she catches them time. A nice piece of history nontheless. Her Trade sets were faultless and tight as anything. I really wish she was still playing as a lot of the current hard NRG would really suit her. As always, there are 2 sides so play both. EJ Doubell Fist 30-9-95  Pt 1

Some of my favorite progressive house tunes from around late 1993/ 1994. Back then I was a regular at clubs like Golden, Swoon, Naughty But Nice, and Lakota. I was also mesmerized  by mix tapes coming out around the time from DJ's like Digweed, Sasha, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman and loads of resident DJ's who never quite got the same acknowledgement as the headliners (I can remember resident DJ Grayson Shipley playing a set at Lakota in Bristol that would give any big name prog DJ a run for their money back in 1994!).

As always, I've mixed this on two Technics 1210's and an Allen & Heath Xone 22 Mixer just as God intended - No computer trickery or magic sync'ing allowed..

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.
