It's been a min, many apologies but life... so here you go. I was just digging through some old selections that I had made for an outing in 2021 hope you enjoy it.

Guest of Deep

I always feel blessed when my work and my passion are allowed to coalesce for the benefit of all. I was recently asked for a special mix to be made to be shared with my work colleagues. Was a very enjoyable process, as I had taken a break from the full prior selection process of set creation. So I sat out to collect, listen, play with, and record something I felt would express the purpose in which this was to be shared. This is the start of a day for some, the middle for others, and a conclusion for the remainder. I hoped to create something that was a motivation for each part of the day. I was pleased with the outcome as well as all the wonderfully positive feedback that I wanted to make available here for the rest of you all here.

Playing in Light

Habitat vibes are always something special for me... so I was honored to play for Studio 4/4 and alongside Jesse Leer for a Habitat show. So to set the scene... Jun 15th, the WA weather still doing its thing, Monkey Loft Roof-deck, the crowd's atmosphere was filled with a positive and uplifting vibes, and I’m personally feeling so grateful for the many family and friends who were in attendance. After receiving so many compliments on this set during and afterwards, I was looking to recreate that evening's vibe in some small way. Happy to have dug into the history and remixed that hour set from the evening. So here it is and I'm pleased to be able to share it here with all of you.

Proton Mix 06/21/23

Deep Tech State is simply a classification. This audio creation was initiated to offer solutions that address the need or desire for something “different” within the current audio spectrum. The challenges presented required significant time and resources before achieving a successful outcome.

Once this state was established, it resulted in a harmonious resonance—bringing enjoyment to creators and users alike. The recorded energy outputs were substantial, exceeding all initial projections. This achievement necessitated the development of new algorithms and the creation of a unique unit of measurement to quantify the overall outputs.

As such, the primary risk associated with the Deep Tech State is technical, while its commercial risk is considered minimal. This is largely due to its apparent value as an audio-based solution to societal needs, with music and dance serving as its primary modes of dissemination and expression. Whether driven physically or mentally, enlightenment begins as soon as one presses “PLAY.”

The underlying scientific and engineering challenges this Deep Tech State addresses yield valuable individual outputs that are difficult to replicate outside their intended environment.

I'm grateful to return with the series I started long ago Deeper Kutz. "Reflection" a mix that honors both the journey I've been on and the music that kept me grounded. MattG's journey to the decks began humbly on Seattle's dance floors, where he immersed himself in the city's thriving house music community. As a devoted dancer and eager student, he spent countless nights observing the craft of local DJs while developing an instinctive feel for what resonates with crowds. This grassroots education became the cornerstone of his approach when he eventually stepped behind the booth after retuning in 2017.

With deep gratitude for the mentorship received from Seattle's generous DJ community, MattG has cultivated a distinctive sound that thoughtfully blends house, tech house, deep house, and breaks.
