Universal Tribe Records proudly presents: The ‘Australiens’ Remixes

After years in the making, we are beyond excited to unveil one of the most anticipated releases in the history of Universal Tribe Records — a project that pays tribute to the legacy of a modern classic while breathing new life into its story.

Originally sparked during Freedom Fighters’ debut tour of Australia, Australiens quickly evolved into an iconic collaboration with progressive techno powerhouses Martin Vice & Michael Banel (MVMB). The track was later released in 2016 as part of MVMB’s debut album on Iboga Records, capturing a moment in time that merged the raw, open energy of the Australian scene with an international touch of cinematic psychedelia.

Now, nine years on, we’ve been granted the rare opportunity to reimagine this masterpiece with a signature Universal Tribe twist. What has emerged is a remix compilation that honours the past while surging forward — a curated celebration of Bush Prog brought to life by some of Australia’s most respected pioneers and the next generation of sonic storytellers — artists known for delivering the finest sounds our scene has to offer.

Featuring transformative remixes by Pspiralife, Ryanosaurus, Sumiruna, Scionaugh, and Doonz, this release brings a fresh, driving perspective to a timeless track — layered, deep, and completely dialled in to the unique rhythm of the Australian bush.

One thing’s for sure: with this release, the journey doesn’t stop —

SERPOOSH opens the ritual with "BEHOLD THE REFLECTION," a track pulsing with primal energy that fuses ancient wisdom and modern technology. TECHDEEJ's "KNOCK KNOCK" arrives next—an insistent, rhythmic summoning. Its precise beats and unsettling synth work demand entrance to forbidden mental territories, leaving listeners with no choice but to answer the call. FRQNC strips everything to its essence with "FOCUS," delivering razor-sharp minimal techno that cuts through the noise. WHITE ZOO's "THE TRUTH" closes the compilation with punchy, stripped-back intensity. Relentless grooves and stark, functional elements create a powerful minimalist statement, proving that in the serpent's world, nothing superfluous survives.

Another incredible year finished at Rabbits Eat Lettuce. Our annual main stage Sunday takeover was easily our best yet. The production was on point, many thanks to the incredible team that brought the stage to life through the design, LED screens, lighting and sound. The music flowed beautifully all night, soaring through styles of techno, progressive and psychedelic tech.

Our newest family member AXON delves into a deep journey of psychedelia. A 100% original material live set, the AXON story grows from interesting melodia to dark, eery and powerful techno. Harmonious soundscapes prove ultimately captivating, a wondrous exalted feeling is imbedded.

It's a love affair with the beats the bush n the good crew!... Never really enjoyed the club scene, Loved the good old raves back in the late 90's, that is until I was introduced to psytrance and my first ever doof. The solar eclipse festival in lyndhurst..... The 6 days I spent there and the people I met changed my life and from that party on I fell in love with the doof. 

A few years later I had a set of 200s and it all began. Had the opportunity to play every kinda party from small house parties to large doofs to dingy night clubs, from Australia to Japan to France, got to have a dig at . N to be honest it was Northern NSW and South East QLD that really excelerted my love for the doof.

To all the crew up that way (you know who you are!!!) love you more than I can express... 

Anyway, enough of all that here's some sets I've played from live recordings at doofs to live streams to just letten out some steam at home after work...... forgive me if there are some moments ... me learning to play with the slip mode when I first got me a pair of 2000 nxs's (what a change from the 2000s)... Any ways drive these tunes into ya. Or not.
