SPLASH MIX (Poolside vibes :: Recorded Live)

Born and raised in Philadelphia he grew passionate for music due to his father being a musician all his life since he was 17, and his mother having a natural ear for music as well.  He grew up with musical influences from freestyle music, salsa, meringue, old school hip hop, and disco.  Finally at the age of 13, after moving down to Orlando, FL for his father’s new job, Ricky was introduced by his father to his first DJ system ever.  His father having been signed to Sony Records in Puerto Rico as a tour DJ, wanted to see if his son had the same ear for mixing as he did.  He soon found out he was right, and as time went on Ricky went on to start mixing at his friend’s parties and his middle school dances.  With the support from his father his hobby grew into a business as he began expanding to doing weddings, parties, and special events.  Finally at the age of 17, he entered the Florida Music Conference young amateur DJ Competition and received runner up overall in the state of Florida, as well as overall crowd favorite.
  It was then that many discovered his true talent, and that same year in 2008 where Ricky coined his name and made his debut at Club Dolce as “DJ RICKYRICO”.  From that moment he has grown to DJ parties all over the state of Florida in his resident city of Orlando, and also in Tampa, Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Ft. Lauderdale.  He currently is a resident DJ for one of Orlando’s well known party labels, “WeekendCrew Party Group”, and continues to make guest DJ appearances in places such as VAiN nightclub (top 100 nightclubs and bars), Simons Nightclub, Pure Nightclub, and many more.
Throughout his career as a DJ, RickyRico never lost sight of hard work and the value of education, while working on his mixes and many club appearances he kept his eye on the grand prize to better himself as an individual and received his bachelor degree in criminology for the University of Central Florida in Orlando. The future holds a feature all original mix tape due out this summer from him to debut his first line of producing music as well, and he hopes to launch his statewide music philanthropy “DJ for a Cause” this fall where Dj’s from all over the state Dj to raise money for charity.  Dj RickyRico also hopes to follow his father’s footsteps and works today with minor labels mixing to eventually be signed by a large scale label.
