The first time I found house was at the Body and Soul party in New York.  People from all corners of the globe and every conceivable iteration of humanity gathered in harmony and swayed in unison, bound by the beat.  

It was a spiritual awakening for this wide eyed 20 something year old from Nairobi.  I had found my home in this behemoth city and uneartherd (for myself at least) the DJ's that brought us together - Joe Clausell, Louie Vega, Timmy Regisford, Danny Krivit, DJ Spinna, Danny Tenaglia, They continue to influence and inform me  today and I still see that there is much room for more female DJs in the world.
